About the Division
The Business Resources Division (BRD) within the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) provides a number of services to state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations. Services provided by the division include Consolidated Mail Services, Fleet Operations, Management Staff, Printing & Imaging, and Surplus Operations.

Develop, Implement, and Support Multiple Automated Digital Print and Mail Workflow Solutions
Under direction of the DPMSA, learn and use established software development methods with multiple PC and server software packages to design, develop, test, implement, and update assigned templates and workflow components
Create and adapt scripts in multiple proprietary and standard languages, including VBscript, PowerShell, Windows batch files, and PressTalk, to interconnect services and workflow steps
Follow established automated error-trapping and quality control methods within and between workflow components to prevent data loss and ensure accuracy of print and mail output, both digital and physical
Apply changes to existing workflows following patterns and examples provided by the DPMSA
Explore new and unused functionality of existing software, developing proof of concepts for potential solutions and services for DPMSA review. Handle other routine functions and first-line customer workflow change requests to free up DPMSA for more complex tasks and projects
Test new workflow output on production equipment, directly and in conjunction with operators when available, to ensure final results meet requirements. Test existing workflow output on new production equipment to ensure consistency of results and work with vendor staff as needed to troubleshoot any issues
Maintain and Support the Enterprise Digital Print & Mail Solutions Architecture
Understand, support, and integrate the features and specific configurations on separate Test and Production server environments for multiple COTS components of the enterprise digital print and mail solutions architecture, including:
PlanetPress Production (aka Watch) - variable data workflow automation software
PlanetPress Image - variable data PDF generation software
SOLfusion
Understand, support, and integrate the features and specific configurations of COTS client software packages on PCs used by digital print and mail production staff, printer operators, and production managers, including:
PlanetPress Design
SDX Designer and SOLfinder extensions for Adobe Acrobat
Solimar System Manager
Solimar Queue Manager
Required Qualifications
OR

Four (4) years (full-time equivalent) of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, directing projects; providing customer or technical support in information technology
At least one (1) year (full-time equivalent) of technical experience in the digital print and logistics field
Experience must include:
Variable data template composition
Post-composition document re-engineering
Workflow development and automation
Code and script development
SQL data transformation
USPS postal processing, including CASS, NCOA, and Presorting
Data security, confidentiality, HIPAA compliance
Additional years of experience can substitute for education on a one for one basis

Software development experience maintaining .NET applications (C# and VB.NET)
Experience with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and IBM z/OS mainframe platforms, plus SSH/SFTP secure file transfer
Using Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Access with VBA for Office Automation, maintain code and add functionality as needed for multiple custom-built DES production applications and utilities, including:

Working Conditions
Work Setting | This position interacts with multiple production locations in a print and mail manufacturing environment containing offset, web, and digital printers, assorted folding and finishing post-print devices, and automated mail inserting and sorting equipment. Noise levels are elevated in production areas.

Customer Interactions | Frequent interactions with current and prospective customers across the state, including state and local governments, tribes, and qualified non-profits, both as an individual and as part of a team.
Other | This position is recognized as Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) Designation - for Disaster or Emergency Recovery. This means that during a recognized emergency, duties may be different from normal duties and would be temporary in nature, lasting only as long as necessary to resume normal operations. You may be required to perform the following during a recognized emergency/disaster:
Report for duty on short notice for the specified timeframe
Report to duty outside of normally scheduled work hours and workdays
This position serves as the sole technical backup to the DPMSA, who is responsible to support the PRISMAproduction server and associated digital print workflows for Production Services continuous-feed printers, along with similar cut-sheet printer operations. Any digital print jobs that are designated under the agency's COOP would be affected by system outages or other operational issues that this position would be necessary to assist or lead in troubleshooting in order to maintain critical services to our customers.
