The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB and serves as a State Administrative Manager supporting the Michigan State Police (MSP).

The State Administrative Manager will report to the Business Relationship Manager and will be responsible for carrying out management duties for first line managers and their staff.  This position is responsible for providing direction and control of functions and activities, including establishing priorities, allocating staff, and ensuring that first line supervisors handle administrative, supervisory, and planning functions.

This position will require the selected candidate to complete and pass a Michigan State Police Fingerprint Background Check prior to beginning employment.

The State Administrative Manager also works with Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to implement the department's mission, policies, strategic plans, and directives. This State Administrative Manager maintains the operations and customer support for all of the MSP IT systems, including Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) systems, custom developed, and SaaS applications.  The administrative manager will support MSP's application systems while ensuring a high level of security for highly complex computer software programs and their data. These programs support the MSP operations responsible for law enforcement for the state and the collection and processing of billions of transactions within the systems used with MSP and the law enforcement community.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.To be considered for this position you must:
