GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Patient-Reported Outcomes, Value & Experience (PROVE) Center seeks to leverage leading-edge techniques to transform the collection, analysis and feedback of patient-reported data at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Partners Healthcare and around the world.
Our strategic focus is based on four interwoven themes:
Develop new measurement tools and techniques.
Transform patient-reported data into actionable insights.
Integrate innovative new systems to simplify data collection.
Demonstrate the value of PROMs for clinical practice, outcomes research, benchmarking and quality improvement.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help shape the direction of front-end architecture at the PROVE Center
Collaborate with engineers across the enterprise on best practices through code reviews, pair programming, and other feedback mechanisms
Enable teams to work faster and better by partnering on difficult problems
Identify and proactively solve problems that will improve and streamline the code base
Develop scalable tools and applications with RESTful API integration
Develop RESTful APIs to communicate with electronic health records (e.g., JSON, FHIR)
Responsible for enhancing and maintaining the current PROVE Center application(s) and working on the next generation
Work closely with the PROVE Center Co-Directors, brainstorm ideas and incorporate feedback from a variety of stakeholder groups and the broader community of local developers and open source community at large
Fix bugs and solve problems, write documentation and automated tests
3 years front-end development experience evidenced by a portfolio
Expert knowledge of modern JS (ES2015 ) and its ecosystem
Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, etc.
Experience working with front-end build toolchains, including tools such as Webpack and Babel
Back-end experience, especially R and/or Python
Demonstrated knowledge of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Experience with universal/server-rendered or "serverless" front-ends
Knowledge of front-end performance challenges and tradeoffs and experience profiling
Experience with CSS as well as dialects such as SASS and LESS
Contributor to or consumer of Open Source Frameworks

Experience working in an agile development environment
Work is performed in a professional office setting. The Front-End Developer has designated cubicle space. May require travel to other parts of the Hospital campus and offsite locations. Workload may necessitate working evenings or weekend to complete critical projects for deadlines.
