This position is a leadership role with accountability over the ELDS global applications architecture, with a focus in North America and ownership over local technology deployment decisions across all application domains.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead, consult, guide and influence technology and architecture decisions across the Division and Country organizations as a function of driving and owning standards in enterprise architecture

  • Define technical IS solution architecture, ensure alignment cross-functionally and throughout surrounding IS landscape(s) through collaboration with IS solution architects, application, and delivery managers across all IS delivery units

  • Supports validation and prioritization of incoming technology demand in collaboration with the relevant IS Service Manager and/or Global IS Domain Architect

  • Keep knowledge up-to-date regarding new and emerging IS technology and IS industry practices, bringing learning into ABB; all within the scope of the relevant IS solutions

  • Collaborate with delivery teams in projects and problem management to maintain, develop and deploy the best feasible and most cost efficient IS solutions/services for the business

  • Supplies the IS Service Manager(s) with relevant stakeholder information related to IS solution/services

  • When required, works together with relevant stakeholders (e.g., business managers, IS Service Managers, other Domain IS Architects, IS Solution Architects, IS Sourcing and 3rd Party IS Suppliers) regarding their expectations, business and technical requirements, and in accordance with Global IS policies, IS procedures and IS guidelines

  • Evaluate reuse vs buy vs build and appropriate technology stack for "crown-jewel" and business critical applications landscape

  • Play active role in application design and engage local solution architects as needed to support project delivery objectives

  • Establish clear roadmap and acceptance criteria for technology decisions

  • Act as guide to development team on technical best practices (coding, config, integration, data flows) & carry out architecture reviews for project and delivery teams as a part of validating design under Gate-3 (gate model)

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Management, Computer Science, Business Systems or similar or equivalent experiences and minimum 10 years of Information System (IS) experience in defined technologies and within relevant IS domain.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, the ADM organization and the outsourcing service providers.

  • Strong potential for growth and acceptance of additional responsibilities

  • Strong leadership with the ability to guide multi-cultural partly virtual teams including 3rd party

  • Strong analytical skills and decision-making ability

  • Ability to take a broad view of his/her position and take initiative to communicate, interact and cooperate with others

  • Demonstrated ability to write reports and lead presentations

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Highly motivated and entrepreneurial

  • Hands-on personality with "can do" attitude.

  • Experience developing landscape strategies, architectures and implementation plans.

  • Experience in effectively drive collaboration between teams

  • Experience developing technology, architecture and strategy, governance plans

  • Ability to interpret new information, technology and methodology and then make it understandable to business.

  • Excellent experience to translate business requirements into IS capabilities and solutions

  • Excellent experience in objectively evaluating IS solutions and making recommendations

  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the overall context of business processes and IS technologies

  • Excellent experience in leading IS people who do not report directly (influence capability)

  • Strong experience in project planning and execution as well as economic aspects of system management and life cycle

  • Superior knowledge of IS technology

  • Solid experience of identifying and resolving issues between team members or other teams

  • Fluent spoken and written English

  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on the business' needs.

  • Experience deploying SaaS solutions, configuring and integrating to corporate or business managed internal systems

  • Enterprise and solution architecture modelling tools (any demonstrated use)

  • Cloud platforms and services (IaaS, PaaS) - AWS, GCP, Azure

  • SAP and surrounding Integration Platforms

  • BizTalk, Mulesoft, BTP/SAP cloud
  • Microsoft stack (.NET, SQL, IIS, SharePoint, 365, Azure Services)
  • Development tool stacks
  • Jenkins, GIT, Azure DevOps
