Meggitt Information Systems is seeking a full-time IS Applications Analyst III, who will be responsible for development within our SQL Server and PL SQL environments. The ideal candidate should have a functional understanding of either engineering and manufacturing systems, or environments. The candidate will be responsible for supporting several legacy applications, as well as, be responsible for new development as required. Some travel may be required, but most work will be done on-site in Akron, Ohio.
Job Core Responsibilities
Maintenance of custom legacy Engineering and Manufacturing Applications.
Ability to develop new applications as required.
Debug and resolve a variety of issues (bugs, performance, and user issues)
Write functional analysis documents, technical design documents and manuals
Participate in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
Proven experience in life cycle application development with the ability to generate application development policies, standards and procedures
Develop utilities, procedures, and documentation upon customer requirements
Application installation and upgrades, including third party integration and hardware configuration
Working with varying software development and deployment packages
Candidate must have an understanding of ITAR, DFARS, and other import/export regulations
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
5+ Years of VB.NET and Java coding experience
C#, SQL and/or PLSQL, UNIX, VAX, Java, Visual Basic, VB.net, Visual FoxPro, Access, Builder, CorVision, FORTRAN (Would be a plus, but not a requirement)
Experience coding interfaces in Integrator
TotalHR experience would be a huge plus
Able to work effectively both alone and in team/cooperative development efforts
Able to learn Engineering and Manufacturing concepts
Strong problem solving skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a multitasking environment
Strong written and verbal communications skills
