Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Irradiated Materials Characterization Laboratory (IMCL) Nuclear Facility Manager to work in our Characterization & Post Irradiation Examination department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off.

The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking candidates for a Nuclear Facility Manager (NFM) for the Irradiated Materials Characterization Laboratory (IMCL) reporting to the Post Irradiation Examination Division Director.

The IMCL Nuclear Facility Manager (NFM) is responsible for nuclear safety management within their assigned nuclear and radiological facilities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish and communicate a strategic vision for successful nuclear or radiological facility operations, mission accomplishments and implementation of continuous improvements.

  • Responsible for safe execution of daily activities.

  • Implement safety basis requirements and performance of activities within their approved Authorization Agreement.

  • Responsible for implementation of facility systems, components, operations practices, INL procedures.

  • Provide leadership, communication, and coordination for all support organizations addressing nuclear facility issues.

  • Ensure requirements are met for MSAs/RAs/ORRs.

  • Management responsibilities for all human capital activities for assigned facilities.

  • Work package manager for assigned budgets.

  • Coordinate, support, and, and subcontract work performance in assigned facility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS plus 7 years relevant experience which includes supervisory and technical experience in nuclear facility operations, testing, and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, environmental requirements, as they apply to operations of a nuclear facility.

  • Knowledge of Department of Energy nuclear authorization basis requirements.

  • Working knowledge of nuclear material radiological and criticality hazards and mitigations.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
