Brief Description

In conjunction with management, supports department and company goals by providing technical and subject matter expertise with regards to map creation, data standards and Enterprise GIS.

Detailed Description

  • Coordinates assigned GIS projects.

  • Provides mapping support to various departments (Land, Facilities, Operations, and EHSR) and disciplines in the form of paper or digital maps.

  • Imports, creates, reformats and/or processes data to produce spatial data for distribution into GIS or hard/digital copy maps for various projects and/or business planning. Data sources could be internal and/or external vendors.

  • Analyze and manipulate data necessary for Acquisition and Divestiture due diligence.

  • Create presentation quality maps for a variety of internal stakeholders including but not limited to Land, Business Development, Engineering, EHSR, and Field Operations

  • Perform GIS analysis, GIS Mapping, and spatial database management as it pertains to the operation and maintenance of midstream gathering system pipelines.

  • Provide GIS Automation Support utilizing Esri Model Builder, Python, and/or FME

  • Support mobile GIS initiatives associated with midstream field data capture

  • Provide guidance and support in the incorporation of midstream pipeline As-Builts into the master GIS database

  • Builds reports for inter- and intra-department needs.

  • Assists Sr. GIS Analyst with the development, and writing of processes and procedure documentation.

  • Assists Sr. GIS Analyst with solving complex technical problems.

  • Assists in GIS enhancements or extensions to be used in conjunction with other department interfaces.

  • Assists with biannual system upgrades, enhancements and testing as required.

  • Works with and have a basic understanding of survey methods.

  • Pipeline and Facilities background a plus.

  • GPS technology background a plus.

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in GIS, Geography, or Planning and 2 years GIS experience required OR High School Diploma and 5 years GIS experience required.

The Senior GIS Analyst supports and champions GIS across PDC, with an emphasis on proactively identifying and implementing GIS solutions within business units. The position requires continual customer focus, strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving, strong and diverse technical skills, and the ability to rapidly shift between low-level technical tasks and high-level interactions. Projects may include assessing business needs for GIS solutions; serving as a subject-matter expert for internal projects; administering and growing desktop, web, and mobile GIS applications and enterprise data; integrating GIS data and reporting within the Business Intelligence team; contributing to long-range plans for enterprise GIS; or testing emerging tools and technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done. Work within business groups to identify, implement, or refine GIS-related processes and workflows;Communicate GIS concepts, topics, and training to both technical and non-technical audiences;Manage and execute projects both independently and in a team environment;Create and manage various GIS data sets using ArcGIS 10.x software;Support and maintain ArcGIS desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and spatial data/ETL processes;Manage, troubleshot, and deploy web services and tools in ArcGIS Server and Geocortex;Automate GIS-related processes using Python scripts;Provide technical back-up to Lead GIS Administrator;Research, test, pilot, and deploy GIS-related processes or technologies;Provide regular project progress reports and actively participate in regular meetings;Perform all other duties as assigned by Lead GIS Administrator and/or IT Management. Professional competency with ArcGIS 10.x software;Experience with data types and formats commonly used in GIS software;Significant experience writing Python scripts, with emphasis on the arcpy library;Experience administering versioning and replication in ArcGIS enterprise geodatabases;Familiarity with relational databases and working knowledge of SQL;Familiarity publishing and using services with ArcGIS Server;Ability to simplify complex GIS issues and present them to non-GIS personnel;Prior knowledge of all of the following areas is preferred:Administering Geocortex Essentials and Geocortex Workflow;Experience using or administering Landworks, P2 Land, or Quorum;Writing Geocortex Workflow tools using ArcGIS Web ADF for.NET and/or ArcGIS JavaScript API;Administering data, content, and users in ArcGIS Portal/Online, with an emphasis on deploying and managing ArcGIS mobile apps;Mobile GIS applications including Avenza, ArcGIS Collector, or Geocortex GMAF;Experience with open source and non-Esri GIS data and software, e.g. SQL spatial formats, .kml/.kmz, GeoJSON, Safe FME, QGIS, GRASS, OGR, etc.;Workflows, software, and data commonly used in upstream oil & gas.
