ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST POSITION: iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance.

K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. The iQConnect Engagement Coach provides information, resources, and support to students and families who are new to our schools and those who are struggling to meet enrollment requirements due to lack of engagement. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Host welcome sessions and orientations as assigned to support and engage new families • Provide weekly email and attendance outreach to assigned students • Complete and log support calls with assigned families • Guide students and families in the navigation of the online school platform and assist with trouble-shooting as needed • Provide 1-1 and group support to students as assigned • Create and implement weekly Support Plans that will guide assigned students back to compliance and re-engagement • Provide proactive outreach to students and learning coaches as needed • Connect students and families to school-based and/or community resources as needed

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full Time:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full time iQConnect Engagement Coach: $22 per hour We do participate in CalPERS. Please contact your CalPERS counselor about how employment with iQ Academy, Los Angeles may affect your personal PERS account.

Only full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system.

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: • Reside in the state of California • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Excellent writing and grammar skills • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Outlook and experience using them in a professional capacity • Ability to work collaboratively on teams • Prior experience working with at-risk youth • Ability to relate to new and returning student needs and provide support CERTIFICATES/EDUCATION: Associates Degree Bachelor's degree (desired) ELIGIBILITY POOL: Our postings are eligibility pools for positions that may arise during the 2024-2025 school year, ONLY.
