About this role
The Translational Cellular Sciences group seeks a highly motivated Associate Scientist with expertise in human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and differentiation. The preferred candidate would have hands-on experience with the culture of undifferentiated iPSC and in vitro differentiation to neural cell types.
What you'll do
As the iPSC Associate Scientist III, you will support the development of human cell-based models of neurological diseases to help advance drug discovery programs across Biogen's therapeutic areas. You will contribute to the production of iPSC-derived cell types for internal and external programs.

You are a Scientist who has hands-on experience and expertise with undifferentiated iPSC culture and maintenance. You have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and good oral and written communication skills. Your open communication and collaborative mindset help you to succeed in our cross-functional team environment.
Hands-on experience and expertise with undifferentiated iPSC culture and maintenance
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 2-5 years of laboratory experience in academia or industry. Master's degree is preferred
Expertise in the execution and development of in vitro differentiation of iPSC, preferably neural cell types including neurons, astrocytes and/or oligodendrocytes
Molecular biology skills including mammalian cell DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/RT-PCR/qPCR
Familiarity with cellular biology techniques including, immunocytochemistry, high-content imaging, image analysis, western blot, cell-based assays
Ability to design, execute, troubleshoot and analyze experiments and to interpret results
Precise documentation of procedures and results in compliance with Electronic Lab Notebook guidelines
