Hasbro's Integrated Play development team is creating new and exciting interactive play patterns that fuse physical and digital play together to create new ways to engage kids of all ages in immersive brand-focused experiences.
The Integrated Play team is developing both interactive content driven products and connected mobile software (apps/games) that are leading Hasbro into the new era of 'Connected Toys' and 'Toys To Life' through innovative consumer experiences. In addition to working on connected experiences for Hasbro's key Franchise brands (Nerf, Transformers, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Littlest Pet Shop etc.) and partner brands (Disney's Star Wars, Marvel & Princess, Sesame Street & Angry Birds), the team are developing ground-breaking products & brands and exploring new brand/IP opportunities.
We are looking for a strong and adaptable visual development artist to work on new digitally integrated experiences for a host of Hasbro's brands. This role will be a key member of the team tasked with developing the overall physical/digital experience and will require involvement at every stage of the project from concept development, storyboarding & prototyping through pitching & presenting to execution and polish. As a visual storyteller, the successful candidate will leverage existing assets as well as adapt & create new ones to build high-quality branded interactive entertainment.
Assist with the visual development and execution of our physical/digital experiences.
Soliciting cross-functional input and collaborating with core team on delivering high-quality interactive apps.
Create innovative, robust, user-oriented and consumer-centric products
Contribute in brainstorm sessions and consistently apply on-trend design insight for product development.
Utilize internal resources and time management skills to independently manage projects to meet deadlines for self.
Build confidence and knowledge when interacting with internal / external partners and presenting design solutions.
Ability to match established brand visual standards as well as evolve them and adapt for digital.
Telling stories visually both for internal purposes (Pitches/Presentations) and for narrative within the experience.
Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree program
Desired areas of study include: Illustration, Animation, Industrial Design
Desired software includes Photoshop, Illustrator necessary; After Effects, Premiere, Maya, zBrush a plus
Understanding of visual development process as related to IP development, games and entertainment
Should have a portfolio of high-quality and diverse work showing a variety of styles when creating experiences, narrative, worlds and characters
Candidates must submit an online portfolio to be considered for Hasbro's Intern program.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Any number of the following: Illustration, 3D modeling, sketching, rendering, animation, storyboarding, sculpting, along with traditional art skills such as drawing, painting, sculpture. Candidates with an interest in fashion design, color or merging digital and physical experiences are encouraged to apply.
Outstanding traditional art skills, principles, techniques and practices.
Proven ability to efficiently translate those skills digitally
Generally proficient in Concept Art, UI/UX Design, Character Design, Environmental Design, Storyboarding (both narrative moments as well as game mechanics), Branding, and Graphic Design. (proven expertise in at least one focused area.)
Candidates are responsible for their own housing & transportation (FREE Parking). Hasbro headquarters in Pawtucket, RI is 1.3 mi from the South Attleboro, MA commuter rail station and we offer shuttle service. The Burbank, CA office is located near the Bob Hope Airport.
