Be an integral member of a small, highly-experienced team in R&D that is responsible for selection and licensing of incoming third-party IP (Intellectual Property) used in the design of advanced microcontrollers and microprocessors. The IP for which this team is responsible enables a product portfolio with over four billion USD in annual revenue. Chances are that the car you drive, the intelligent devices that pervade your living space and the factories that produce the goods you use will contain one or more of the chips that you contribute to.
We are part of MCU/MPU Engineering, a central design organization within NXP, developing products for multiple business lines in Automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), Networking and Radio Frequency products, with expertise in hardware engineering, including architecture, IP and full SoC Design.
IP Licensing Technical Program Manager that drives the sourcing of leading edge technologies from concept to delivery, managing supplier engagement to successful silicon. Includes activities such as roadmapping, requirements gathering & alignment, evaluation, benchmarking, supplier selection, budget tracking, technical negotiations, Statement of Work elaboration and processes improvement.
You will work with subject matter experts and managers in every discipline of semiconductor R&D, including system architects, design engineers, product and test engineers, and design quality, as well as our procurement, legal and finance teams.
Create and maintain third-party IP roadmaps, working with product marketing, systems engineers, SoC architects and IP suppliers.
Develop and maintain financial forecasts for third-party IP licensing fees and royalties. Work with NXP product program management and the finance team to ensure that decisions are based on accurate data.
Manage compliance with financial and legal obligations in signed license agreements. In consultation with the legal department, advise managers, engineers and financial controllers on compliance matters.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators, dashboards and reports to senior management.
Participate in continuous improvement, contributing innovative ideas for process modification and renewal.
Leading effective meetings with diverse technical experts, helping them prioritize and communicate clearly.
Influencing peers and managers, those inside and outside the company, and holding everyone accountable.
Presenting data in a clear and concise way that tells a story and enables decision making.
Elaborating cost models for contract negotiations.
Interacting across disciplines, teams and corporations on a daily basis.
B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering or similar field.
A business administration degree, either MBA or undergraduate dual major, is a plus.
Experience in IP or SoC design, verification or systems engineering.
Experience in technical project management or cross-functional project coordination.
A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant post-graduation experience.
Clear communication, the courage to challenge subject-matter experts, ability to lead effective meetings and attention to detail are always expected.
Flexibility in taking on different responsibilities throughout the life cycle of projects.
Familiarity with legal concepts and the ability to read and interpret contracts is a plus.
Basic knowledge of finance and accounting is a plus.
Certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
