IP Design Engineer

Job Description

In this role responsibilities include, although are not limited to:

  • Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for SoC (System on a Chip) development

  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation

  • Define module interfaces/formats for simulation

  • Perform Logic design for integration of cell libraries, functional units and subsystems into SoC full chip designs, Register Transfer Level coding, and simulation for SoCs

  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.

  • Perform all aspects of the SoC design flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing and power to create a design database that is ready for manufacturing

  • Analyze equipment to establish operation infrastructure, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results

  • Review vendor capability to support development

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have a Masters degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Preferred Qualifications

6+ months experience with:

  • Computer Architecture
  • VLSI design or Analog design

What you will be doing: * As a member of the team, you will participate in the efforts in establishing CAD and physical design methodologies (flow and tools development), * Your day to day will include developing chip floor plan, power/clock distribution, chip assembly and P&R, timing closure, power and noise analysis and back-end verification across multiple projects. * This position requires you to work with EDA vendor (Synopsys, Cadence, Magma, Mentor, etc.) tool suites such as: Apollo, Astro, Physical Compiler, PrimeTime, dc_shell, Silicon Ensemble, First Encounter, PKS, and Nanoroute. * You will interact with a diverse team engineers. What we need to see: * A minimum GPA 3.5 * You are currently enrolled and will be completing BSEE, MSEE or PhD. * Possess a deep understanding of static timing analysis, clock/power distribution and analysis, RC extraction and correlation, place and route, circuit design and analysis. * You have scripting and programming experience using several of the following: Perl, C, C++, TCL, Scheme, Skill and Make. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills area plus. * Do you have previous experience in physical design implementation?
