What you will do as an IoT Engineer
The Emerging Technologies team at Musco Sports Lighting is a dynamic and innovative development group specializing in creating cutting-edge products for the youth sports market. We are at the forefront of merging science and technology to revolutionize the way youth engage with sports. Our team is passionate about pushing boundaries to enhance the sports experience for the next generations.
Implement network configurations and edge-based solutions based on requirements from engineering, operations, and key customers
Examine and assess networking and IoT hardware options, then communicate your discoveries to relevant stakeholders through comprehensive reporting
Maintain test lab equipment and manage test plans when applicable
Provide technical leadership for the product design team, driving standardization and automation
Maintain expertise in data network security technologies, ensuring cost-effective solutions aligned with business direction
Evaluate, select, and deploy toolsets to manage, measure, monitor, and report device, network, and system characteristics
Collaborate with internal IoT development team members and third-party service providers in the conception, evaluation, piloting, engineering, and operational delivery of solutions
Configure and analyze solutions on a wide variety of IoT devices including LAN/WAN switch/firewalls, radios, cellular modems, GPUs, IP cameras, and IP security solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve IoT-related incidents
What you need to be successful
Bachelor's degree in network engineering, computer science, or a related field
3+ years of experience in deploying IoT technologies. Graduate degree in relevant topics will be considered toward experience
Knowledge and awareness of IoT gateway products, agents, sensors, and devices
Experience in managing devices remotely and maintaining device inventory
Experience working on Linux & Windows
Knowledge of PowerShell or Linux Shell scripting
Experience with the AWS IoT (or similar) framework is preferred
General knowledge of the entire IoT stack with hands-on experience configuring IoT devices
Positive attitude with a strong commitment to delivering quality work
Strong commitment to innovation and shaping the future of sports facilities

Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Engage with internal and external customers for briefings, issue escalation, and complex solution development
Document network and device capabilities for internal and external consumption
Provide clear and concise recommendations to remediate performance/scaling bottlenecks
Participate in lab testing with other teams to ensure performance expectations are met
Provide escalation support for troubleshooting and resolution of network data and security issues
