In this role, you'll be a member of an eclectic team whose primary purpose is the collective success of our internal and external customers and partners as they exploit the IoT as a means of driving meaningful business outcomes. As a charter member in this newly formed division, you'll be asked to wear many hats helping sell one day, enabling channel partners another, and building out innovative IoT assets the next. In a nutshell, you will need to do whatever is necessary to make our offerings and customers successful.

Our IoT Industry Consultant relies on extensive industry/business domain expertise and networks to drive strategic industry, solution, and technology positioning and messaging in our target markets. They act as a front-line spokesperson with internal and external audiences.

Primary responsibilities include:

Support

  • Builds a trusted relationship with direct sales and IoT commercial managers to provide sales support, including customer meetings, practical guidance in the business value of proposed IoT solutions and sets proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic IoT solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional and technical capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS IoT solutions as they apply to client needs.

  • Works proactively with sales teams, partners, marketing, R&D to strategize on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.

  • Leverage domain experience in thought leadership exercises: speaking and writing.

Enablement

  • Help to define and develop IoT service offerings, and enable a broad set of professional services teams and partners.

  • Develop, document, and communicate IoT best practices.

  • Provide hands-on knowledge transfer of IoT best practices to strategic channel partners.

  • Develops standard, customized and/or strategic IoT solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS IoT solutions.

  • May work on PoC's and special projects as assigned; act as the IoT lead on assigned activities.

Innovation

  • Develop innovative IoT assets that showcase our value and capabilities.

  • Develop use cases that demonstrate the value of IoT in new and\or under developed problem domains.

  • Provides new approaches for sales support and enablement to further our division goals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline. Graduate coursework or advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in IoT related roles, with knowledge of streaming data sources and applications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of analytic lifecycle concepts data exploration/mining, model development and model deployment across enterprise platforms

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to present to all levels of an organization

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional communication skills across channels as well as small and large groups

  • Fundamental understanding of decision support and operation software systems

  • Familiar with SAS or competitive products in IoT

  • Active member in key IoT associations and groups

Preferences:

  • Consulting or Applied experience in the software and/or analytics space

  • Recognized as a thought leader with specialized knowledge in IoT, preferably with cross-industry experience

  • Experience with location analytics (WiFi, beacon, etc.), real-time customer engagement and/or security intelligence

  • Hands-on technical or solution architecture experience

  • Familiarity with cloud hosting, development languages and open source technologies AWS, MS Azure, Python, R, Spark, Hadoop, C, C++, Java, or other similar platforms

  • Familiarity with base SAS or SAS tools, though not required

  • Confident working with edge hardware, routers or gateways

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance, asset condition monitoring and/or reliability engineering, though not required

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.

The IoT Solutions Architect (IoT SA) works to implement go to market, mid-sales and delivery strategies primarily focused on defining, designing and deploying systems and solutions. The IoT Systems Architect will supporting the IoT Sales & Channels organization to close large/complex IoT opportunities, as well as work cross functionally with internal IoT specialist teams and customers on transformational business/engineering activities such as M2M. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in customer outcomes from sales enablement to execution. You'll be a part of the "go to" team solving complex IoT engineering/technical design problems, doing solutions architecture, providing product expertise, and working on go to market strategies, to help customers maximize their experience on Sprint's award winning network, and drive net-adds and revenue of the company.Driving is an essential function of the job. Applicants must have a valid driver's license (may not be learner's, restricted or "to and from work" license) and three consecutive years of active driving history immediately preceding the application that meets Sprint's driver standards.
