Pentair currently has an opening for an IoT Embedded Engineer to join our team at our Moorpark, CA location. In this role, the IoT Embedded Engineer will be involved with both the development of new designs and the evolution of current products to the Cloud. Primarily, the IoT Systems Engineer will both architect electrical circuits and develop firmware for both control and connectivity using various schemes such as WiFi.

Be responsible for circuit design and PCB layout at the schematic level with experience in Altium or Orcad.
Design embedded systems utilizing Texas Instrument's ARM, Microchip PIC, and Atmel microcontrollers/processors.
Select components including capacitors, resistors, IC's, batteries, connectors, WiFi/Bluetooth Modules, etc., paying attention to product requirements, availability, lead time, and quality.
Prototype and work with quick-turn board fabrication houses for proof of concept designs.
Utilize electrical test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Digital Meters, and power supplies.
Utilize firmware test equipment including debuggers, emulators, and programmers.
Develop communication protocols and hardware (Ethernet/WiFi/RS485/UPS/U2C/SPI, etc.).
Be responsible for the development and validation of product firmware, bootloaders and test code.
Conduct hardware testing and debugging for robustness and general reliability.
Support and lead new designs from concept to post release with a strong sense of urgency and creativity.
Maintain, build out new features, and iterate on existing features of current products.
Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver reliable Connected Products on time and on budget.
Have a commitment to rapid development.
Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Have 7+ years of experience developing electrical designs in Orcad and Altium.
Have 7+ years of experience writing firmware in C/C++ on a variety of microcontroller platforms.
Have experience with IoT and Connected Products.
Have experience with WiFi Modules (ESP32, etc.) and associated firmware.
Be computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Outlook.
Have experience in designing products for high volume manufacturing.
Have a strong knowledge of analog and digital design, including a broad background of microcontroller based systems.
Have strong firmware design skills with a proven ability in persevering to overcome and solve problems.
Have the capability of working in a small focused development team dedicated to IoT products as well as the broader cross functional team environment, including: mechanical design, molding, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, sales, product management and quality.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Have the ability to communicate on all levels clearly and concisely.
Be engineering diligent, accurate and detailed orientated.
Be self-motivated and able to multi-task and communicate effectively with little supervision.
