Job Description:

Hartford Steam Boiler is currently recruiting for our 2020 Summer Intern Program. In order to be considered, you must be in an undergraduate university program (rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior). As part of your internship, you will be working with one of our key business areas in which you will be assigned a mentor where you will be exposed to various types of work and projects, while collaborating with a number of experienced professionals in our organization. As part of this program you will gain exposure to valuable resume building opportunities, networking activities and a final group project to complete the experience.

We're looking for a curious, whip-smart intern to help us understand our customers better, discover new methods of engaging emerging opportunities, and to create content to sate the needs of those customers throughout their buyer journey. Research, data, focus groups, and more together we can be, statistically, unbeatable!

As our intern, you will work on "real work," with real meetings, deadlines, and business challenges from our internal teams, partnerships, and our clients. This is the education you won't get in a classroom.

Consider it career practice, with the freedom to learn, make mistakes, refine, question, and tag along. You'll work with an individual mentor and supervisor in a unique cross-disciplinary environment focused on customer experience, brand stretch, marketing, and digital transformation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate Student or Graduate candidates in Marketing, Business Strategy, or Finance.

Are comfortable with digital and non-digital media

Have a knack for preemptively identifying problems and devising solutions

Are versatile, capable, unflappable, able to prioritize and handle multiple projects

Are a senior, recent grad, or Masters candidate from an accredited university studying marketing, business strategy, marketing, or similar field

Responsibilities:

To listen, learn, contribute, and grow

Participate in qualitative and quantitative research programs, conducting analysis to uncover insights that improve the customer experience, identify new partnership opportunities, and create HSB messaging that surfaces earlier in the buyer journey.

Assist in the creation of content strategy, planning, and content development for various channels across the marketing ecosystem.

You will help reinforce HSB as a strategic thought leader by supporting the creation of compelling presentations.

You'll become familiar with the disciplines and professional areas in which HSB works.
