The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced full-time iOS developer than can help us develop and maintain customer-facing mobile applications powered by the Vivint's Smart Home devices. We're a fast paced and multi-functional team of skilled developers with a passion for innovation, architecture, efficiency, best practices, mentoring peers, delivering more value, and solving hard problems. We deliver customer-facing applications that enable our end users to access and make use of their smart home, and the devices which power it, in new and exciting ways. Team members must open-minded, able to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and have the capacity to get things done even if the task is less defined.

Who you are:

You're a world class engineer with strong experience developing and iOS apps. Youre experienced in security related topics and ideas and arent afraid to take on tasks outside the app when needed. You have a strong passion for embracing and creating new ideas, capabilities, APIs, emerging technologies, while supporting and mentoring your peers. You love to work closely with your team to develop better practices and raise the bar of software you and your peers create, but are also skilled at taking collaborative ideas, owning them, and incorporating them into how your work. You are skilled at navigating and digesting reference documentation and existing codebases and can improve them where needed. You are fulfilled when you're helping those around you succeed. You work closely with your peers to define and determine how best to architect software and you prototype your findings while creating tooling which empowers other developers.

You work hard to play hard and take pride in delivering excellent work. You're excited about working with a team focused on delivering a vision and enjoy collaborating with other engineers, product folk, and designers to create elegant products that deliver everyday value to consumers. At your core, you have confidence that you can solve any problem (technical or not) that's handed to you.

What youll do:

Work closely and collaborate with our product and design teams to build the ultimate Smart Home experience
Discover and create new technologies we'll use to power our iOS app(s) and, occasionally, the rest of our Smart Home Platform
Prototype new and redesigned features across all layers of our application, with primary focus on security of the user experience
Work in a fast paced, self-directed environment
Participate in regular "Innovation Weeks" where all engineers get opportunities to explore technologies that may not be part of their daily work

Minimum qualifications:

B.S. in Computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
4+ years professional iOS development experience or equivalent

What were looking for:

Strong grasp of foundational programming concepts
Ability to take high res prototypes and create pixel perfect, working versions
Experience building software that integrates with REST APIs
Confidence to learn and understand large and complex code bases
Experience developing complex applications
Willingness to occasionally work in GoLang areas of our code stack
Experience working closely with designers and other engineers
Experience with Objective-C and Swift

Nice to have experience with:

Mobile Security (OWASP or other)
Common software architectural practices and principles (MVC, MVP, MVVM, Clean, SOLID)
RESTful services
Dependency injection
Accessibility frameworks, voice over and dynamic fonts
Working with a cross-site team

Nice to have (but not necessary) some experience with:

Android SDK
Kotlin
Java
Golang
