BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions. Treasury has overall responsibility for all system funds and securities under the general guidance of the Assistant Treasurer and the Finance Committee of the System Board. This group oversees the day to day cash management, including establishment and maintenance of proper controls over daily cash transactions of BJC HealthCare and the cashiering functions at BJC entities within the Washington University Medical Center. The group is responsible for managing activities and providing technical assistance to the Assistant Treasurer and CFO related to bond issues and other long term debt obligations of the system.

Role Purpose

Responsible for computing and analyzing aggregate portfolio risk metrics and producing econometric and statistical analysis in support of asset allocation, portfolio design, manager selection and benchmarking research. Will work closely with external consultants and financial vendors and will utilize a broad and deep knowledge of quantitative statistics, computer modeling, risk management and global capital markets to provide insight, support and challenge to each of the asset classes. Will also drive the team's generation of analytics for risk management purposes, as well as supporting the development and implementation of risk management practices designed to aid the short and long term return and risk goals of BJC.

Responsibilities

Evaluate asset class valuations, macro-economic trends and implications for asset allocation strategies in order to build, research and maintain databases of economic and market index data, correlation volatilities and returns to develop ad hoc white papers addressing investment topics and principles.Drive the annual asset-liability process for BJC clients that include building the infrastructure that will support return, risk and correlation expectations.Build tools that will assist with the identification of asset class valuation and optimal hedging strategies.Develop and continually improve algorithmic approaches to risk attribution and forecasting at the aggregate portfolio level in order to lead quarterly and monthly risk reporting efforts and improve data management and analytic infrastructure.Perform ongoing benchmark research and assist with various modeling projects involving the evolution of portfolio-wide metrics, asset allocations, policy portfolio work and ad hoc analytical projects that are predicated on risk management.Develop compliance process for investment team, consolidated portfolio and individual managers.

The Investment Research Analyst 2 position is within the Advisory Services Group (ASG) of Wells Fargo Advisors. WIM Equity Research Analysts share a commitment to our clients' investment success and satisfaction. From a top down perspective, we provide clear prescriptive advice regarding how portfolios should be allocated within each equity sector depending on our view of the market cycle. We also manage several thematic recommended lists to fit most risk suitability profiles. Our investment philosophy can vary depending on investment style; however, the common core within this bottom up approach is companies that have a competitive advantage supported by quality management and appropriate financial strength. The Equity Research Analyst is responsible for providing timely, well-supported investment advice on equity securities to retail advisors by communicating guidance/advice through telephone conversations, audio & video commentary and written summaries. Specific Responsibilities may include: * Researching of individual securities to isolate critical variables and formulate sound investment advice by gathering, reading and analyzing information. * Presenting commentary and equity sector advice to portfolio management teams within other Wells Fargo lines of business that have established relationships with ASG. * Covering at least one equity sector and potentially more sectors. * Proactively responding to developments/news of high interest to retail financial advisors & clients. * Reviewing of financial documents, news reports, press releases and regulatory filings and other event notices to determine the scope of the event and any action that needs to be taken by the FA/client. * Compiling fundamental and economic data. * Performing financial analysis. * Developing and maintaining databases and forecasts to determine appropriate valuations. * Writing research reports to reflect company, sector and market developments. * Communicate risk suitability recommendations for WFA's Equity Capital Markets Committee. * Potentially co-manage one of WFA's equity recommended lists/sample portfolios, with sights to progress to be a primary manager of a list. * Other duties as assigned.
