Investment Funds & Advisers Group Associate San Francisco

A great law firm that is routinely named best law firm to work for by US News and World Report is seeking an associate attorney with approximately two to three years of experience in investment management law and/or corporate transactional and securities law experience for a partnership track position in our top-rated and nationally prominent Investment Funds & Advisers Group. The firm offers a collegial, efficient, midsize firm platform with exceptional lawyers, sophisticated clients, and compensation competitive with larger firms. The Investment Funds & Advisers Group works with hundreds of private funds and investment advisers in a cutting edge practice. Prior private fund or Investment Advisers Act experience is a plus, but not a prerequisite. Significant securities law experience is required.

Position Summary* The SF BUILD Diversity, Inclusion & Community Partnerships Lead will work closely with SF BUILD Leadership to identify & support the development of community partnership with the SF BUILD program, whose goal is to increase the existence and persistence of historically underrepresented groups in biomedical research careers. This individual will establish connections with community partners, serve as the primary contact for the SF BUILD program, and identify the needs for each organization. The candidate will lead efforts in identifying and implementing activities to support SF BUILD & Community partnership that align with SF BUILD program goals on enhancing diversity and inclusion in STEM. Position Information General Administrative Functions: * Connect with SF Bay Area community, non-profit, local government and educational organizations to partner with SF BUILD in STEM research and outreach activities. * Work with community partners to identify their needs for increasing diversity and inclusion in STEM at their organization and communities. * Recruit & work with SF State students and faculty to participate in partnership research and outreach activities. 35% Administrative Specialties: * Provide leadership in the planning, development and implementation of activities and resources for BUILD-community partnerships to meet SF BUILD goals of enhancing diversity in STEM. * Use appreciable ingenuity and innovation to conceive of new approaches and solutions to connecting with community organizations and identifying the needs for the organization to. * Present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and facilitator skills to gain consensus. * Review research and share best practices with community partners through leading discussions around diversity and inclusion efforts in the STEM workforce. * Work with the SF BUILD evaluation team to develop methods to evaluate the impact and outcomes of working with community organizations. Program Administration: * Serve as the primary contact as the SF BUILD liaison to community partners and manage the relationship with the partnering organizations. * Provide strategic advising and influence to SF BUILD leadership in how to enhance diversity in STEM through the development of SF BUILD community partnership * Ensure partnership activities align with SF BUILD Project goals Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. * General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods Knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. * Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit. * Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to federal grant funded programs and/or administrative specialty. * Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. * Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. * Skill in the research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. * Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
