Investment Banking Vice President

Baird's Global Investment Banking group provides M&A, debt advisory, and equity & debt financing services to companies and investors globally. The group employs approximately 400 banking professionals.

We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Investment Banking Vice President with at least three years of Investment Banking or equivalent experience to join our Government & Defense team in Tysons Corner, VA. The team is recognized as a leading M&A advisor to the sector, having closed 27 transactions totaling more than $14.0 billion in transaction value since the beginning of 2021.

As a VP in Investment Banking, you will:

  • Lead transaction execution teams in preparing and analyzing historical and projected financial information, developing marketing materials, and coordinating due diligence.

  • Build relationships and maintain day-to-day contact with clients, prospects, and advisors.

  • Assist senior bankers in business development efforts including prospect identification, marketing initiatives, and pitching new business.

  • Work primarily on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, with clients including Fortune 1000 companies, private equity groups, and founder-run businesses.

The qualified candidate will interact with current and potential customer organizations in all divisions but specifically with the National Reconnaissance Office and adjacent intelligence entities (e.g., NGA, DIA, CIA, NSA). The candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities and developing and maintaining profitable relationships with multiple stakeholders across the government.</p><p>The Business Development Vice President will exclusively manage the pursuit and capture process and may participate in pursuits within other agencies as necessary. The qualified candidate will collaborate with customers and Altamira internal departments to create or vet opportunities, generate technical approaches, and create management presentations in support of pursue/no pursue and bid/no bid recommendations.</p><p>Job Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Maintain active, positive relationships within the NRO to identify opportunities (both organically and inorganically)</p></li><li><p>Maintain a working knowledge of NRO roadmaps, architecture and mission</p></li><li><p>Execute advanced business development techniques to meet corporate growth strategies and the supporting processes to meet both market share and revenue goals</p></li><li><p>Develop Customer intimacy, strategy and qualified pipelines for the NRO and adjacent US Intel Agencies</p></li><li><p>Identify and implement approaches for breaking into new customer markets as well as, expanding in the current customer footprint.</p></li><li><p>Actively identify client needs and ensure profitable solution-based selling to increase revenue and create value added customer relationships.</p></li><li><p>Support cross team/function coordination associated with identification, qualification, shaping, and capture of business opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Establish and maintain sufficient opportunity pipeline to ensure growth goals are met.</p></li><li><p>Develop and present performance reports and progress towards strategic captures, and market trends.</p></li><li><p>Support the establishment of applicable budgets and forecasts based on opportunity identification and market activity.</p></li></ul><p>Requirements:</p><ul><li><p>Minimum 8 years' experience developing business in defense and intelligence markets with proven and quantifiable results.</p></li><li><p>At least three years of supporting the NRO in a management, business development or technical lead role</p></li><li><p>Must have led and won large competitive captures.</p></li><li><p>Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential. Significant local travel. Master's degree highly desired. BA/BS degree required.</p></li><li><p>Must have a broad customer intimacy, including current architectures and programs, across the NRO customer</p></li><li><p>Current Polygraph and SCI clearance and badge access to Northern VA intel customers</p></li><li><p>May lead partner strategies, and contract negotiations to include teaming agreements, and price to win strategies.</p></li><li><p>Oversee both internal and external resources in support of ongoing branding initiatives thereby ensuring alignment with emerging corporate capabilities and emerging client needs.
