Department Profile:

Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking Division (IBD) builds and maintains close relationships with corporations and governments around the world in order to provide both traditional and innovative solutions that meet their individual strategic and financial needs.

Team Profile:

The IBD Management team supports IBD in executing a variety of strategic, financial, operational and regulatory initiatives, including the identification, evaluation and mitigation of risks arising from IBD business activities. This position provides an opportunity to support the execution and enhancement of the risk management and oversight processes for the IBD businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance IBD business processes and MIS systems;

  • Collaborate with team members and cross-divisional stakeholders;

  • Produce business metrics and reporting;

  • Conduct analyses to support IBD risk management and oversight processes;

  • Assist with the identification and evaluation of potential franchise risks arising from IBD client relationships and related business activities;

  • Create presentation materials for Firm and IBD senior leadership and for training; and

  • Act as a liaison between IBD Management and other parts of the division and the Firm.

  • Bachelor's degree required, with relevant financial industry experience and genuine interest in investment banking and capital markets activities and products;

  • Strong computer, analytical and problem-solving skills (including Excel and other data analytics tools);

  • Solution-oriented, with ability to "think out of the box" and to manage to tight timelines;

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a small team environment, with high attention to detail and level of drive;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with all levels of employees in a professional and effective manner; and

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • 1-6 years of relevant experience

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Job Summary & Responsibilities Candidate will work as part of the Investment Banking Division Compliance team ("IBD Compliance") with a primary focus on compliance matters related to the firm's Transaction Banking business that provides cash management and related services to corporate clients. The position requires regulatory expertise, compliance risk management experience and analytical skills to assist the business in complying with applicable regulations. The candidate will be involved with initiatives of varying complexity; work on multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail; and need to satisfy high priority and time-sensitive deliverables on a day-to! -day basis. In addition to working collaboratively with fellow team members and global counterparts in IBD Compliance, the candidate will regularly interact with Transaction Banking business professionals, other compliance teams and other Goldman Sachs departments, including Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, Operations, Technology and the Conflicts Resolution Group.
