Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Analyst has the opportunity to engage in practical hands-on work at the Investments Office while gaining exposure to a wide array of asset classes and interacting with some of the world's best investors.

The Investment Analyst will also have exposure to the inner workings of the University financial system from spending to budgeting and beyond for a deeper understanding of the endowment's position within the greater Wesleyan ecosystem.

The Investment Analyst plays a supporting role as a member of the investment team, helping to manage the endowment's assets, track its performance and hone the systems and processes that serve as a foundation for its future growth.

The Investment Analyst is an active participant in the sourcing and vetting of new managers, in addition to the ongoing monitoring of current partnerships. The Investment Analyst will receive extensive training to build a foundation for a successful investment career.

The Investment Analyst will have the opportunity to learn financial theory and analytical techniques through the highly regarded Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. Further training in accounting, Excel, Bloomberg, Morningstar and other systems will also be sponsored by the Investments Office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing investment objectives, capital allocation decisions, investment performance and investment policies.

  • Assisting in the screening, selection, and monitoring of money managers through background research, manager meetings, and portfolio analyses.

  • Manager interaction including travel across the United States and world.

  • Quantitatively and qualitatively monitoring the investments of existing portfolio managers.

  • Tracking and monitoring portfolio risks.

  • Conducting research and analysis and preparing information on a variety of investment topics.

  • Articulating investment theses and research through presentations.

  • Preparing materials for the investment committee and board of trustees.

  • Serving as a representative of the University throughout the investment community.

  • Maintaining internal databases and research management systems on a daily, monthly and/or quarterly basis.

  • Actively participating in manager meetings with responsibility for notes, memos and other follow-up analysis.

  • Portfolio analysis - performance analytics including return attribution and exposure analysis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is bonus eligible in addition to the base salary range that is posted

The Sr. Operations Project Analyst is responsible for data analytics projects in support of all Kaman Precision Products (KPP) Operations in our Orlando and Middletown locations. This position can be located in Orlando, FL, or Middletown, CT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities In this role you will: * Perform data mining to extract information from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases inside and outside of MRP and ERP systems and the accompanying backend databases. * Identify correlations and patterns within available data. * Performing statistical analysis of data. * Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. * Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures. * Using data to predict trends in the performance of our business systems. * Using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams, graphs and pivot tables. * Preparing reports for use across the organization and presenting these to management. * Ensuring consistency and accuracy of data, monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data and the sources of inconsistent data. * Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements. * Perform data analytics such as KPIs and TTIs, ETCs, EACs, diversion budgets, tooling budgets, Capital budgets, inventory levels, cash flow, etc. * Assist in production optimization by coordinating with stakeholders on data such as lead times, cycle times, and cost variations. * Support the Operations organization in the management of the Estimates at Completion (EAC) process activities for the management of material for all KPP programs. * Ensure all planning parameters related to materials cost are accurate, current and continuously adjusted to support the EAC processes. * Create dashboard metrics to focus management awareness and actions. * Coordinate the capital planning process; ensuring budgets are met while identifying and prioritizing risks and opportunities while tracking the plan. * Manage the IDWA process while identifying risks/opportunities to the plan. Present IDWA change scenarios to stakeholders along with recommendations for change. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in a finance, accounting, or related business discipline or equivalent experience. Ideal candidates have experience with Oracle databases, performing SQL queries, MRP and ERP systems and expert-level MS Excel skills. Preferred Experience: * Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst * Broad knowledge of a cost accounting/control including EVMS * Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques * Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL etc) * Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) * Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy * Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings * Strong Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Kaman Corporation Middletown CT
