Waldron Private Wealth (Waldron) is looking to fill a Investment Analyst II position and is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, organized, and strategic individual. This individual will be responsible for providing investment portfolio management services, conducting research on the economy and markets, performing due diligence on new and existing managers, and creating reports for client investment portfolios presentations.

In this role you will:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more functions within the department and manage assigned function.

  • Participate in various client interactions (ex. emails, meetings, phone calls, etc.) with other client team members.

  • Generate investment-related reports for client portfolios and internal process, including the creation and modification of client portfolios, portfolio rebalancing reports and investment performance reporting.

  • Assist in trading functions.

  • Analyze and communicate drivers of investment performance of client portfolios to internal team members.

  • Evaluate prospective client portfolios; generating portfolio analysis reports as well as conveying analysis of the investments internally to team members.

  • Assist in the due diligence process for new and existing investment strategies, working with team members to complete relevant reporting and communicating analysis of the potential investments.

  • Support the goals and visions outlined by the senior team members/Chief Investment Officer impacting the Investment team.

  • Communicate with portfolio managers and other departments for requests and ad hoc reports on various topics.

  • Complete monthly and quarterly client performance reports and ad hoc reports as required by clients or other team members.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with all of the Firm's resources/personnel in fulfilling client needs.

  • Create monthly and quarterly due diligence reporting.

What you need:

  • Travel up to 15% to sites beyond the corporate office required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field required.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of wealth management or investment related experience required.

  • Passed CFP, CFA (Level II), CPA or another approved advanced credential required.

  • Series 65 required or obtained within three (3) months unless regulatory exemption is granted.

Responsibilities: * Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by managers and department director (these deadlines and turnaround times will, at times, require the employee to work until the project is completed, meaning extended daily work hours, extended work weeks, or both). * Perform cost/benefit analysis. * Identify trends in expenses, utilization, medical quality, and other areas. * Investigate variances and derive solutions to cost increases and quality issues. * Perform statistical analyses, and then explain this analysis to a non-technical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management. * Manage special projects. * Monitor business unit operating performance against regional, national and international benchmarks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required. Master's degree preferred. Extensive related experience will be considered. Minimum of two years of related work experience in financial and/or medical analysis required. Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred. Strong computer skills, with expert knowledge in Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, Cognos Reports, and other financial & statistical software packages. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences. Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position.Excellent planning, communication, documentation, organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities. Advanced mathematical skills. Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way. Ability to effectively approach problem solving. Ability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy. Ability to analyze financial & clinical results and to comprehend forecasting models. Knowledge and good understanding of all products and benefit designs of UPMC Health.
