Position Summary:

Applies fundamental knowledge to assist in the analysis of the credit worthiness of various corporate debt issuers in a variety of asset classes in the public and private markets. Occasionally will assist in other asset classes, including municipal bonds, structured credit, tax credits, or alternative investments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Applies fundamental knowledge to assist in the analysis of various corporate debt issuers across various sectors in the public and private markets.

• Works to develop and maintain written credit evaluations including issuer overview, industry and competitive analysis, financial statement analysis, relative value analysis, and other relevant information based on qualitative and fundamental factors.

• Assists in monitoring existing holdings within the portfolio and maintaining the research database.

• Supports the analysis of deals in the primary and secondary markets.

• Conducts analysis to aid in the appropriate buy, sell, and hold recommendations to the portfolio managers both verbally and in writing within a relative value framework.

• Performs quarterly valuations of various private debt and private equity investments under guidance.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required; Preferably in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics.

• 0-2 years in credit research or trading, industry analysis, financial research, or a related field. Relevant coursework and internship experience will be considered.

• Relevant experience in the specific asset class a plus.

• CFA/MBA/MS in Finance program participation or willingness to pursue.

• Experience with the following a plus: Aladdin, Bloomberg, Python

• The selected candidate will work a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to our Chicago location.

The range for this position is $70,100 to $122,400. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
