WESTconsin Credit Union has an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to build their investment advising portfolio. As an Investment Advisor you will serve the financial needs of credit union members. You will help members identify financial goals and objectives through face-to-face financial analysis and identify appropriate insurance and securities products to meet members' goals and objectives. You will achieve program profitability for CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. and Credit Union by developing long term relationships and utilizing prescribed methods to grow business.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong relationships with members by consistently using the prescribed sales process

  • Cultivate strong working relationships and trust among credit union staff by conducting regular staff training, attendance/participation at credit union staff meetings and functions and sending referrals back to the Credit Union

  • Meet or exceed credit union cross-selling goals as established in the credit union commitment letter

  • Present a professional image in all interactions both personally and professionally

  • Consistently and effectively utilize all tools, technology, and resources as prescribed by CBSI and the Credit Union.

  • Adhere to all FINRA and insurance rules and regulations, as well as to all company policies.

  • Follow established policies and procedures of ethical market conduct. Conduct business according to high standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity and render service to customers which in the same circumstance we would demand for ourselves

  • Meet or exceed individual production goals - with an appropriate product mix

  • Continually strive to grow business via Lobby Days, seminars and workshops, execution on system of referrals, segmentation of book of business, etc...

  • In collaboration with the Credit Union, create and execute on an annual Marketing Plan

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or equivalent trade-off in professional work experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful financial services sales experience with verifiable commission history of at least $150,000 Gross Dealer Concessions

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build business relationships with diverse clients

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex information, create and deliver an effective message scaled to the appropriate audience

  • Must obtain the Life/Health Insurance License within 90 days of employment

  • Must obtain the FINRA Registration Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Series 6, Series 63 and Series 7 within 90 days of employment

  • LUTCF, CLU, ChFC or CFP designation preferred

This program is Baird's proprietary training program specifically designed for Financial Advisor Trainees who are new to the industry and the Financial Advisor role with an existing team identified. The objective of the program is to create confident, professional Financial Advisors who fulfill the Private Wealth Management Mission. These objectives are achieved through a four-phase program conducted twice per year. Upon graduation from the Financial Advisor Training Program (FATP), the FA Trainee becomes a Financial Advisor and formally joins a team of one or more veteran Financial Advisors. He/she begins cultivating a client base and works to provide financial solutions and guide clients' decision making. As a Financial Advisor, you will: * Acquire new assets through targeted business development efforts. * Analyze clients' financial circumstances; including investment portfolios, assets, and liabilities. * Develop financial plans and makes recommendations to clients, considering clients' short term and long term goals. * Determine investor suitability through analysis of clients' investment objectives, risk tolerance, net worth, income, and investment expertise. * Advise clients on various products and services, through education with respect to clients' objectives, risk tolerance, etc. * Work to integrate Baird products and services into business. * Guide clients' decision making as they position significant assets among a variety of financial instruments. * Cultivate and maintains client relationships through successful ongoing interaction, communication, and expertise. * Responsible for marketing the products that offer the most benefit for Baird clients. What we look for: * Bachelor's degree required; in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or communications a plus. * 3 or more years of experience required, preferably in a sales or financial services oriented capacity (Mortgage or insurance sales, pharmaceutical sales, etc. or CPA, Estate Planning, Commercial Banking, Financial Wholesaler, Trust Officer, etc.), or ownership and operation of a business. * Demonstrated success in sales with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. * Currently holds SIE, Series 7 and 66 or must have the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. * Ideally has a natural market from which to develop business and former experience in a commissioned compensation structure ideal. * Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, monitor, and complete multiple tasks or projects, either independently or with a team A brief overview of each phase is provided below: Phase I - Licensing: The Licensing Phase is the first phase that a trainee will complete and focuses on self-paced study while in the branch. Trainees are required to attain their Securities Industry Essential (SIE), Series 7 & 66, Life and Health Insurance licenses. In addition to attaining these licenses and transitioning into the Financial Advisor role, trainees will be partnered with a coach shortly after joining Baird to develop a strategic business plan that will help them reach their target market, build their business and achieve their goals. Phase II - Baird Foundational: Trainees begin partnering with internal experts to develop materials and relationships that will help promote and streamline their new business practices. Additionally, they will obtain general investment knowledge and learn about Baird's product & service solutions and technology tools. Training is conducted in the branch office via eLearning sessions, homework assignments and exams. Part of the training is then delivered at Baird's Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. Phase III - Application: Trainees will engage in live, in-person, Milwaukee based training and instruction which will introduce them to sales methodology and tools that have helped new Baird Financial Advisors build their businesses in today's challenging environment. By this time, trainees will have most of their business plans developed and their marketing campaign materials and timeline will come into clear view.
