About The Job

This job is a member of the Investigating team within the Integrated Operations Division. Responsible for providing analysis of operational flight data as well as producing reports and presentations for the Flight Operation Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program.

Specifically, you'll do the following:

  • Conducts daily work flow processes for the FOQA program

  • Assesses events and trends, identifies operational hazards, and validates corrective actions

  • Develops new data analysis products and methodologies for data mining

  • Coordinates with the Flight Department for data analysis needs

  • Coordinates regularly with Allied Pilot Association (APA) FOQA gatekeepers

  • Coordinates with Tech Ops Department regarding support of the FOQA program

  • Creates flight animations of actual events for use in operational departments

  • Assists with accident and incident investigations

  • Participates in FOQA Monitoring Team meetings

  • Participates and contributes to the American Airlines SMS process

  • Develops, prepares and presents analysis of flight data

  • Represents American Airlines at industry FOQA related meetings


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience/training

  • 3 years related job experience

  • Experience working with data mining tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, Access, etc.

  • Experience performing data analysis and building various related reports in MS Office products

  • Knowledge of aeronautical theory and aviation operations as applied to commercial aircraft

  • Proficient using MS Office software

  • Must fulfill background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable

  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects with changing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or Statistics

  • Basic Programming knowledge/experience

  • Master's degree in related field

  • Previous experience within a FOQA program

  • Familiarity with GE Aviation flight data software (previously Austin Digital)

  • Experience using CEFA animation software

  • Private pilot license or higher

  • Experience at an air carrier

The Security Investigator position is responsible for determining that all operating policies and procedures are properly adhered to and for investigating any deviations from standard, which may adversely affect the disposition of company assets or employees. The position is responsible for factual documentation of the event and presentation to the responsible party. This includes the preparation of prosecution paperwork when appropriate. The position will attend business related conferences and meetings and conduct training as necessary. General Duties and Responsibilities: * Conducts complex external investigations which involve persons outside the company. The investigations may include robberies, check fraud, credit card fraud, or other criminal episodes. * Conducts internal investigations into company and field operations utilizing various databases and operating systems for extensive research to validate processes. * Conducts interviews of employees to obtain and validate information obtained from sources inside or outside the company. * Prepares a detailed written synopsis of the investigation. This information is then communicated to appropriate departments within the company. * Acts as liaison with and maintains strong relations with law enforcement agencies for all company related issues in their area of responsibility. * Appears in court to testify on behalf of the company as required. * Conducts inspections of customer transactions completed by shop coworkers through computer research, CCTV video review, and examination of physical merchandise/collateral and the related documents. * Conducts security inspections within company shops including reviewing the condition of all security equipment, i.e. alarms, cameras and safes. Report's findings and makes recommendations based on extensive experience to appropriate personnel in order to resolve any issues/concerns in a timely manner. * Evaluates a series of daily reports to detect possible fraud, determines appropriate actions and works with shop leadership to ensure that shops are operating within accepted company guidelines. * Takes lead in preparing and disseminating timely company communications related to various scams, counterfeit scenarios and other related theft and fraud trends. * Conducts in-depth and advanced formal loss prevention training and presentations to a variety of audiences. * Actively identify investigations, multitasks and maintains a heavy case load. * Interacts and works closely with First Cash legal counsel and human resources for all matters. * Maintains contact with immediate supervisor and chain of command. * Compile and report monthly statistics related to investigations and non-investigative tasks. * Analyze and report on data related to burglaries, robberies, or other security concerns as requested. * Provide oversight on selected security activities and special projects as requested. * Performs other duties as assigned.
