Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management, or Criminal Justice related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) required or must obtain within 90 days of hire date
Minimum two years investigative experience preferred
Knowledge of Association of Certified Fraud Examiner's standards, federal statutes, state statutes, and District policies and regulations
Ability to successfully complete assignments with minimum direction or supervision
Knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to write clear and conclusive investigative work papers and concise narrative audit reports
Demonstrated familiarity with analytical methods needed to satisfactorily complete investigative work
Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in working with various district and non-district personnel
Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
Perform investigations and examinations of alleged employee misconduct in collaboration with senior level staff
Maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards
Work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment
Conduct internal investigations of assigned district projects, departments, and personnel
Develops investigative plan, researches criteria, collects, analyzes, evaluates, and safeguards evidence
Conducts interviews as necessary
Prepare reports summarizing the findings of completed investigations, with practical and economical recommendations for corrective action, when applicable
Communicate regularly with team members and management to share information
Ensure compliance with Board of Trustee policy and administrative procedures
Keep abreast of District's policies and procedures relevant to the investigations assigned
Liaise with federal, state, and local law enforcement as well as Dallas ISD Legal Services department
Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Salary Minimum: $57,262
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer Human Capital Management.
