The District Attorney's officeis recruiting for
Investigative Technicians IIIto perform varying levels of research, service of subpoenas in the field, investigative support functions, trial preparation, forensic computer examination work, and drafting of court orders for the District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation. This position may respond to hazmat situations and death investigations, or be assigned to oversee the Bureau's evidence, fleet, equipment, training, and computerized building access/ID card systems.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background: Applicants must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required.
A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment and must be maintained. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Fifteen (15) semester or (23) quarter units of completed college coursework in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice, Social/Behavioral Science, Business/Public Administration or closely related field. A list of completed college coursework is required unless an applicant has an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a qualifying area.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience providing customer service to the public and to other law enforcement agencies, processing requests for reports, files, evidence, discovery, and lab results, communicating with victims, witnesses, and other governmental agencies, and accessing confidential law enforcement databases.
SUBSTITUTION: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
