We are looking for a talented mechanical Tool Room Technician who will be responsible for for supporting the Testing Laboratory by processing inventory, supporting manufacturing operations and maintenance required to ensure project success.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintain daily consumables stock on hand and in inventory system
Store incoming purchased and special Customer owned hardware for testing
Maintain stock parts as needed to support current and future customer requests
Notify purchasing and supervisors of urgently needed parts not yet available to inventory
Support co-workers with needed consumables
Paint and detail testing fixtures after fabricated by machine shop
Maintain spray booth equipment by keeping clean and organized, changing air filters as needed
Research vehicle platforms and help sales and engineering in ordering parts for fixture build and testing
Research parts for specific platforms and order parts for fixture builds
Monitor waste oil & batteries for scrap, initiate pick-ups, and deliveries of new drums
Initiate purchase request forms to order parts needed within the laboratory
Perform laboratory housekeeping to maintain areas in good condition
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment
All other related duties as assigned
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in basic computer skills
Proficient in basic Microsoft Excel functions
Proven knowledge of ERP system
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Forklift experience preferred
Have hand tools & toolbox (preferred)
Mechanical knowledge to fit and function test parts on fixtures
Ability to use a computer
Physical Requirements:
This position is located in a testing environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity will include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or standing for long periods of time.
Ability to speak verbally, and read in English
Ability to see with corrective lenses
Ability to hear
Ability to walk
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Hazards:
Normal hazards related to working in an office environment, manufacturing, and testing environment
Normal hazards related to road and air travel
