Responsible for the monitoring and controlling of inventory, ensuring timely system receipts upon quality acceptance, shipment and delivery of materials, maintaining accuracy of inventory in the inventory control system, and investigating discrepancies. Develop and maintain vendor relationships in the best interest of the company. Manage inventory control processes for the facility including and physical counts at suppliers. Ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained. Responsible for working with program teams to evaluate inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs.
Oversee inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures and accuracy of inventory in the inventory control system.
Document daily deliveries and shipments (location transfers) to update inventory.
Maintain accurate records to facilitate shortage detection, inventory analysis, shrinkage and scrap costs.
Ensure timely physical shipment / receipt between suppliers.
Review and monitor the timely confirmation and accuracy of inbound inventory, outbound shipments, and adjustment transactions to ensure accurate inventory records.
Coordinates delivery/pick up of materials to and from suppliers and ensures locations are maintained in the inventory control system.
Works with program teams to coordinate and monitor the activities associated with overages, shortages, damages and defective product.
Maintains and manages inventory of materials and products, which include locations and profiles. Accounts for receipts of new items, returns, back-orders and associated issues, essential data on all the handled materials, and inventory transactions between programs, while adhering to strict accounting and auditing procedures.
Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems.
Works to optimize the inventory management strategy of the company to ensure the timely processing of inventory transactions.
Manages the performance of regular cycle counts of inventory materials at suppliers to ensure accuracy of inventory and assists in conducting yearly physical counts. Investigate discrepancies with suppliers and program teams and ensure adequate adjustments are made to the system.
Ensures products are received and managed according to the company's standard procedure, so materials will be readily available for production or whenever needed.
Ensures that any late materials or those that hold up production for any reason are close monitored until they are received and released to production.
Provides routine management data regarding inventory performance, which involves evaluating and monitoring usage and cost of materials, consumables and scrap.
Develops and implements inventory control procedures, to include cycle counting and reporting guidelines, problem identification and resolution, and inventory control process improvements.
Ensures that work orders are fully and properly completed and that all stocks have been correctly allocated to corresponding jobs.
Ensure that all material consumed during the manufacturing and / or assembly of final product has been properly relieved / dispositioned from the inventory control system.
Creates daily reports to control the key critical areas of the inventory system and address any discrepancy. This task involves managing control measures to make sure inaccuracies and errors are highlighted and resolved.
Ensure that product is rotated on the FIFO basis; including establishing procedures for incoming/outgoing product so that proper rotation is followed.
Responsible for recording all inventory movement, such as entering finished build assemblies, recording inventory transfers from various site locations & receiving inventory into the accounting system.
Work directly with suppliers to properly manage and account for all incoming and outgoing inventory and communicate status to program teams.
Coordinates damaged and defective products, ensuring accountability in TipQA (non-conformance system) and ensuring that physical disposition is determined / documented and completed.
Effectively communicate with program teams and suppliers to accomplish necessary objectives
Supervises all inventory control personnel to achieve objectives relating to inventory control management, provides communication, ensure compliance to procedures and suggests inventory improvements.
Performs miscellaneous inventory duties as required.
Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years' experience or combination of equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of DOD contracts and other commonly used accounting concepts, practices, and procedures in the field is required. Strong background and experience in program management support a plus. Experience with ERP system implementation preferred.
