Inventory Specialist

Randstad in partnership with our client Bayer Crop Science in Oxnard, California, is now hiring for an Inventory Specialist with experience in the seed business or logistics/operational planning. If you are the selected candidate for this role, you will work with our client who is shaping the world of agriculture with breakthrough innovation for the benefit of farmers, consumers and our planet.

As the successful candidate for this opportunity, you will be responsible for timely and accurate management of the inventory in order to meet all outbound orders. You will work in conjunction with RSM and Inventory Analyst to supply timely and accurate availability information to stakeholders. You will effectively prioritize plans and execute their work and will help execute the strategic vision of the RSM group, Manufacturing and the broader organization. Duties include:

Responsibilities:

  • Clearly and effectively communicate cross-functionally in order to resolve issues, to complete customer orders.

  • Monitor multiple systems and to adapt to the dynamics of the company.

  • Take direction from Senior Inventory Management and input from Analyst.

  • Reduce lead times for Order Fulfilling.

  • Maintenance of inventory in accordance with Product Specs and QA guidelines.

  • Review of daily audit report to ensure all seed quality meets or exceeds internal/external standards.

  • Manage hold code process through coordination with QA, Customer Service and Distribution to ensure timely availability information and shipments to customers.

  • Proper selection of seed material in accordance with quality specifications, customer/country requirements and in compliance with federal and international seed laws.

  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.

  • Accurate and timely creation of SAP documentation for processing by Operations departments. Other tasks or duties as deemed necessary.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business or Economics or related Areas.

  • Requirements include 0-5 years of experience in the Seed business or Logistics/Operational planning. Communication skills both verbal and written required.

  • Excellent analytical skills required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have strong computer skills.

  • SAP knowledge highly desired.

  • Ability to work effectively in a global, team-based and matrix environment. Bilingual capability will be given extra consideration.

The City of Oxnard's Information Technology Department is seeking a Computer Network Engineer I/II with strong technical and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service and have a good understanding of computer installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support services on various hardware and software platforms and peripheral devices. SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides installation, maintenance and technical support services for City-wide computer equipment; performs troubleshooting tasks for enterprise computer systems; performs related duties as required. PAYROLL TITLE: Computer Network Engineer I/II DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Computer Network Engineer I is the entry level class in the Computer Network Engineer series. Initially under closer supervision, incumbents develop technical skills in the maintenance, repair and operation of standardized computer applications and software as well as City procedures. This class is alternately staffed with Computer Network Engineer II and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher level class. The Computer Network Engineer II is the journey level class within the Computer Network Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Computer Network Engineer by the performance of the full range of technical support duties and is assigned independent projects which include working independently with minimal supervision. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the two vacant allocations only. There are currently two (2) regular vacancies: One (1) in Help Desk Operations, and (1) in Communications. Help Desk Operations: Supports computing hardware, software, mobile device and other City system functions and applications. Communications & Security Systems: Supports telecommunications (leased line) services, VoIP phone system services, mobile devices, and associated systems. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED: General supervision is provided by the Systems Administrator and Network Services Coordinator. Technical or functional supervision may be provided by higher level professional positions. WORK SCHEDULE: The normal work week is Monday through Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm with every other Friday off. This position is required to be on a on-call (stand-by) rotation and you may be required to be available to work additional hours as needed to respond to workload needs. This position is governed by the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay. Please note: The selected candidate must pass a thorough background investigation. Essential Functions Includes but is not limited to the following: * Assists in the implementation of computer systems related technical and administrative projects; resolves client problems accessing their data and applications both remotely and in person. * Installs personal computers; installs and connects peripheral equipment such as printers; installs local software programs on new and existing personal computers. * Conducts various tests on components, equipment and software during installation to ensure they are working properly and in accordance with City specifications. * Responds to requests for assistance with hardware and software problems and participate in the repair of computer hardware. * Performs preventative and corrective maintenance as required, including such tasks as testing connections, troubleshooting problems, replacing components and performing inventory control functions. * Performs inventory control for hardware and software; maintains an inventory of information technology equipment used by the City.Performs routine clerical duties in support of the City program data processing functions and Information Services. * Utilizes, creates and updates documentation used to provide technical support and guidance for customers and other IT Department staff. * Schedules Information Technology support calls, works with vendors and monitors equipment and service inventories. * Maintains system inventories and reports to facilitate proper administration of system resources. * Contributes to the implementation of projects designed to accelerate and improve the City functions as it applies to IT and communications. * Communicates in a professional manner in written and verbal form with internal and external stakeholders, customers and representatives. Qualifications The following are minimal qualifications necessary for entry into the classification: Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Computer Network Engineer I/II. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess: COMPUTER NETWORK ENGINEER I Education and/or Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year of experience working in an end user technical support environment and/or performing local area network management or supplemented by course work in computer science, programming or related applications. License/Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license. COMPUTER NETWORK ENGINEER II Education and/or Experience: The equivalent of two (2) years of experience providing technical support and/or LAN Management including one year comparable to the Computer Network Engineer I, supplemented by course work in computer science, programming or applications. License/Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license.
