As directed, purchases, monitors, and maintains acceptable inventory and supplies for applicable Kaweah Health departments. Ensures all ordered supplies and deliveries are accounted for in compliance with policy and regulations.

Assists the Kaweah Health Materials Management team with research in order to select products according to quality, price and serviceability. This will involve computer skills along with data analysis. Works with the Accounts Payable department and Materials Management teams on correcting invoice or purchase order discrepancies.

Works with other Kaweah Health departments on supply chain process flow. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Works directly with distributors and vendors.

Performs assigned tasks, within their scope, necessary for an efficient operation of the supply chain. Performs other inventory and supply related tasks as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Required: One or more years of purchasing or medical experience, or an Associate's degree.

Preferred: One year of purchasing experience, preferably in healthcare.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilitites

Knowledge of computer and on-line ordering.

Skill in effectively locating the most appropriate vendors to fulfill orders through cost-effective procurement.

Skill in dealing with customer requests and complaints in a courteous, calm manner.

Ability to be accurate, organized and efficient in processing and following up on orders.

Ability to problem solve effectively when dealing with delivery and other vendor conflicts.

Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment preferred.

Knowledge in word processing, Excel and a windows-based operating environment highly preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential

Reviews requisitions in Workday for completeness and accuracy and contacts requestor for additional information as needed.

Processes assigned department requisitions in a timely manner and oversees the purchasing and restocking of supplies.

Works directly with Kaweah Health Materials Management team and assigned clinical departments as it relates to supply changes, additions, deletions, and recalls.

Physically accepts equipment and product for the assigned departments.

Identifies and retrieves all recalled supplies and follows vendor and Kaweah Health processes for recall management. Maintains distinctly separate areas for recalled items.

Monitors cost of supplies to ensure prices and PAR levels are set at appropriate levels for the corresponding departments.

Contacts vendors for discrepancies or replacements as needed.

Completes annual physical inventory in addition to daily cycle counts for inventory maintenance

Checks expiration dates and monitors supply and pharmaceutical inventory in Central Supply to assure appropriate stock levels.

Maintains supply storage areas in an orderly and clean manner.

Follows Kaweah Health policy, prepares, documents, and coordinates all outbound shipments, including those with special instructions such as Fed Ex, UPS, return receipt or return authorization shipments. Ensures item is packed with materials appropriate for the item being shipped.

Works with Materials Management and Accounts Payable to help correct payments and credits.

Follows security procedures for stockroom area.

Participates in record keeping. Produces records as required.

Uses Excel and other tools for data organization.

Communicates, both in writing and verbally, in an effective, professional, and prompt manner with all perceived customers internal and external.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$25.28 -$37.92
