PAY & BENEFITS:
Hiring Range: $40,346 - $44,381 ($19.40 - $21.34/hr)
Full Range: $40,346 - $61,085 ($19.40 - $29.37/hr)
In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.

Description :
The purpose of this classification is to maintain all inventory levels for Gas and Water/Sewer Maintenance to satisfactory levels. Work closely with vendors, Gas Supervisor and Water/Sewer Supervisor to ensure timely deliveries of materials, including maintaining Elements inventory supply software. Under general supervision, reports to Director of Utilities.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. While this is intended to accurately reflect the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels for gas, water and sewer field crews.
Coordinate inventory purchases with vendors at the direction of Gas Supervisor and Water/Sewer Supervisor.
Ensure all inventory used or placed on service trucks is accounted for and correctly entered on material worksheet and in Elements inventory software.
Receive ordered materials for gas, water and sewer, stock on shelves and make additions to Elements inventory software.
Confirm materials received matches packing sheet from vendor, unpacking and verifying condition of materials, and turn in to Office Supervisor for payment processing.
Prepare gas meter and water meter serial number sheets for input into CUSI billing system by Office Supervisor.
Maintain inventory purchased vs received spreadsheet for materials ordered.
Conduct quarterly inventory counts for gas, water and sewer materials to ensure accurate levels are being maintained; reconcile and balance the physical inventory of stored materials to Elements inventory software.
Conduct fiscal year-end inventory counts in conjunction with the Finance Department and the auditors.
Request purchase orders from Finance Department, where applicable, following Town of Smyrna purchasing guidelines.
Prepare annual bid of materials for gas, water and sewer.
Attend bid opening for annual materials and perform bid evaluations, including exceptions reports, and make recommendation to Director of Utilities to place on Council agenda for approval.
Recommend disposal of unused items, as appropriate, following Town of Smyrna guidelines.
Communicate effectively, tactfully and positively in both oral and written form.
Conducts behavior in a professional manner at all times to positively reflect on customer's perception of the Town.
Maintain clean warehouse(s) and orderly materials storage.
Pick up ordered materials from vendor and/or deliver materials to job sites, as needed.
Meet with department supervision regarding inventory supplies/delivery times, as needed.

Must have working knowledge of purchasing practices and methods, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must have ability to learn GAS, WATER AND SEWER inventories.
Must have working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and ability to learn Elements inventory software programs.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have High School diploma or GED required.
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or obtain within 12 months.

MANDATORY overtime is sometimes required, as well as varying work hours including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
