INVENTORY PLANNER

THE ROLE:

This is a great opportunity for someone with a little to intermediate experience, to join the growing global Supply Chain team. The Inventory Planner will be responsible for the strategic and tactical solutions to complex process or system problems in his/ her assigned area. They will be focused on the collection and analysis of data. As a recognized expert within his/ her specific work area on both basic & advanced analytical problem solving, data evaluation, the Inventory Planner will drive best in class processes, reporting and communication.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is uber-passionate about Supply Chain and excels at organization and project management. They're known for their data reporting wizardry and ability to present the data in a clear and effective format. Creating and implementing process improvements excites them. They excel under pressure and love the challenge of tight deadlines and changing priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Articulate the differences between the inventory forecasts and identify risk mitigation to address differences.

  • Articulate the differences between usable and unusable inventory, in support of the demand requirements and identify risk mitigation to address differences.

  • Responsible for conducting cross-functional Disposition meetings to coordinate and drive efforts to minimize aging and drive revenue

  • Work with large data sets and streamline reporting and BI activities.

  • Collaborate with Planning on specific products and utilize MRP system to review inventory projections and risk assessment

  • Support, maintain and drive efforts for the successful management of AMD's Inventory Specs

  • Responsible for Pre-Close and Close Summary activities.

  • Drive discussions over inventory liability, revenue commitment gaps, and health of the product at the aggregate and detailed levels.

  • Able to define, document, and then measure success indicators for increasingly complex areas of responsibility.

  • Identifies areas for self-audit; promotes continued awareness and use of program as job/function requires.

  • Work with cross-functional team to determine best in class data visibility and reporting needs. Drive automation requirements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • One-plus years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably in an inventory planning role for a global manufacturing company

  • MRP tool/ Excel/ Business Intelligence applications

  • Intermediate understanding of Inventory Management and Finance

  • Advanced Project Management Skills (organization and coordination)

  • Strong data reporting skills, especially regarding ROI / Cost Analysis

  • Exhibits effective listening and interpretation skills that are sensitive to cultural differences and limitations of communication tool

  • Ability to articulate appropriate level of detail dependent upon audience

  • Executive level presentation skills, ability to influence across functions & regions

  • Sequel and other database knowledge

  • Rapid Response experience an asset

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or related is preferred
