POSITION OVERVIEW

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of inventory management within a designated geographical area. The Inventory Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety. This position requires a deep understanding of food production processes, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to achieve operational excellence.

This position reports to the Director of Operations and has a strong relationship with S&OP, Procurement, and Farm Operations. To be successful in this role the candidate should be able to work collaboratively, have a strong attention to detail, and operate with the highest of standards. This is a hands-on and site-based position that will travel between our Hamilton and Northern Kentucky facilities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and execute inventory plans based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and seasonal demand fluctuations.

  • Collaborate with Operations Supervisor as the main communicators between farm and corporate team on supply changes.

  • Assist in oversight of daily order fulfillment needs by addressing the gaps between the inventory and demand alongside of S&OP team. Building towards a superior fill rate for our customers. (10%)

  • Utilize inventory management software and statistical forecasting techniques to optimize inventory levels while minimizing overstock and stockouts.

  • Collaborate with Quality team to ensure inventory control procedures are being followed according to food safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Manage stock level plans for the farm's reordering requirements in collaboration with procurement team.

  • Manage regular audits to verify inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • In partnership with Materials Supervisors, assists in monitoring shelf-life and expiration dates of perishable goods to minimize waste and maintain product freshness. Oversee cycle counts and other inventory management actions related to nonproduct inventory.

  • Work closely with production, logistics, quality assurance, and sales teams to align inventory management strategies with production schedules and customer demand.

  • Communicate inventory-related insights, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction in inventory management workflows.

  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and traceability in inventory control processes.

  • Provide training and support to team members to ensure compliance with inventory management procedures and safety protocols.

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of experience in inventory management within the food production industry, with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or equivalent work experience

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems, with advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Relevant experience using key data tools- Excel, PowerBi, GrowOPs.

  • Exceptional organization skills, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Analytical and detail oriented

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration

  • Positive attitude and ability to successfully interact with a broad range of people

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to produce results

  • Proficiency in English language required including oral and written communications; secondary language skills are a plus
