SUMMARY

The Part-Time Inventory Coordinator's responsibility first and foremost is to deliver a premium customer experience by inspiring creativity within our customers and making JOANN their happy place! All Team Members strive to drive sales through advanced product knowledge, innovative merchandising and cutting counter accuracy. The Inventory Coordinator will review inbound product deliveries and work schedules to ensure delivery coverage. They will also maintain backroom standards by accurately processing freight and taking full account of physical inventory to ensure product is continuously flowing to the sales floor. This team member is fully accountable for annual physical inventory of the store. The Inventory Coordinator will also embody the characteristics that tie back to the duties of Brand Ambassador, Operational Excellence, Business Acumen and Inspirational Leader.

BRAND AMBASSADOR

  • Greets every JOANN customer and uses the F.A.S.T. service model to meet the customer's needs

  • Asks open-ended questions to learn about customers' project needs and escorts them to the desired product's location

  • Engages in friendly conversation with customers about their projects while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Performs on-hand counts of physical inventory throughout the back room and sales floor to ensure all inventory is accounted for

  • Receives and unloads truck deliveries with close attention to detail and ensures freight is organized and undamaged

  • Processes freight received from trucks to ensure all merchandise is accounted for and ready to be sent to the sales floor when necessary

  • Cleans and organizes the back room and maintains high standards in the cleanliness and quality of their work area

  • Stocks shelves accurately according to planogram while maintaining a high level of productivity and close attention to detail

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Consults with store management regarding inventory discrepancy and product flow issues to reduce shrink

  • Merchandises product in a way that catches the customer's attention and promotes sales

  • Constantly improves upon processes and uses innovative thinking to create a better flow of inventory throughout the store

INSPIRATIONAL LEADER

  • Works closely with store management to ensure that incoming freight has a strategic plan for movement onto the sales floor

  • Communicates freight plan to other team members and promotes whole store participation in the movement of freight

  • Partners with store management to align scheduled hours with the inbound product flow to create full workload coverage

  • Monitors team member work practices and provides guidance on receiving/stocking store policies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a customer centric environment

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. Supports the International Sales Manager in maintaining the international base of distributors and partners. 2. Acts as the first point of contact for International Sales department for questions or inquiries. Responds in a timely manner with recommended solution and involves other team members as needed. 3. Maintains international business and financial spreadsheets by reviewing for sales, payment, and profitability. Communicates findings to International Sales Manager. 4. Enters international purchase orders into the customer order system, reviews, distributes and audits invoices. 5. Assists International Sales Manager and President of Engineering & Manufacturing with private label project development and implementation. Coordinates with outside customers to procure pertinent project information, such as decal artwork, packaging, owner's manuals, etc. 6. Supports international product lines by assisting with the development of maintaining owners manuals and technical documentation, developing parts explosions, brochures, charts and sales literature, and creating bills of materials. 7. Coordinates design changes by creating engineering change notice documentation and supporting other departments through the changes. 8. Assists international sales efforts through marketing activities including but not limited to creating product brochures, graphics, training materials, website content, and emails. 9. Creates sales and marketing presentations as needed to support the department under the direction of the International Sales Manager. 10. Coordinates trade show and conference participation and attends events as needed, under the direction of the International Sales Manager. 11. Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach. 12. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
