The inventory control specialist has the primary responsibility of maintaining accurate warehouse inventory by ensuring that physical counts and barcode storage locations match the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with a 95%+ accuracy rate. This is a regional position that will have the responsibility of approximately 10 warehouse locations ranging in size from 10,000 square feet up to 200,000 square feet in size.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that physical inventory matches WMS inventory
Works with internal teams including sales, shipping and purchasing on various customer related inventory issues
Ensures that inventory cycle counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
Audits entire facility inventory on a regular basis and report to management
Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control
Works with Claims department to communicate with manufacturers or sellers when overages, shortages and damages are found in inventory.
Stay up to date with changing technologies in inventory control
Initial travel will be 40-50%; long term will be 25%

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION
Four to six years of experience in a warehousing environment and familiarity with inventory control processes and warehouse operations.
Microsoft office and AS400 experience preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately
Shows the ability to work well under pressure to identify and solve inventory problems
Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between departments
Displays the ability to multitask
Computer skills including MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Warehouse Management Systems
Lift truck operator experience operating fork and pole attachments is a plus
Lean experience is a plus
