  • Operate Industrial Equipment to perform inventory tasks

  • Perform cycle counts, slotting moves, log exceptions, data entry and sorting of returns, and other activity as required by manager

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of all supplies and communicating needs to Leadership

  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining all activity to achieve overall inventory accuracy

  • Responsible for optimal work flow and safety of assigned area.

  • Support the Operations Manager in duties as assigned including supporting all operational areas of the Distribution Center

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills

  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of hand (RF) scanners and experience using Warehouse Management

  • The ability to be certified on lift equipment

  • Must have the ability to work safely and abide by all of Carters Safety rules and procedures

  • Must have the ability to abide by all of Carters policies and procedures; specifically the attendance policy

  • Skilled at multi-tasking and should be able to react quickly to frequent priority shifts

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule while maintaining a good attendance record. High school diploma or GED, preferred not required

  • At least two years warehouse experience, preferably in an Inventory Control role.Must be able to handle cases weighing up to forty pounds for duration of shift

  • Must have a valid State issued Drivers License

  • Must be able to stand and work for long periods of time during shift and including daily overtime, Holidays and OT as needed

  • Must be able to work consecutive days in a row during peak

  • Holiday schedule to be decided by Management

  • Comply with blackout periods as determined by Management

Position Purpose: With 10 locations across the country, our network of distribution centers keep all of our online stores and retail locations stocked with all the best products for our customers' pets. The Operations Manager will be for our Braselton, GA distribution center for 2nd Shift. The successful candidate will plan, direct and manage the daily operation of a 'main' distribution center through subordinate supervisors to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments; stock movement and completion of shipping of store orders. Works interactively with distribution supervisors to ensure efficient and effective operations. The nature of this position entails supervising all distribution center employees through subordinate exempt level supervisors, to include interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation and follow through as well as periodic performance evaluation, disciplinary action and termination when necessary Essential Job Functions: Through previous background and experience, the candidate must demonstrate, with or without an accommodation: * Manage Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Warehouse and may assist to perform any of the related duties * Set-up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders. * Conduct inventory cycle counts and adjusted stock counts to ensure the accuracy with which supplies are stocked in the warehouse and run daily inventory, productivity and analysis reports for distribution among management staff; audit pallets picked to measure accuracy. * Maintain Warehouse database for use of research and identifying product number, SKU numbers, and locating merchandise within warehouse. * Manage schedule completed by Supervisor including the dispatch all outgoing trucks to Distribution Centers and Petco stores. When necessary, contact outside vendors to arrange for additional drivers or trailers to deliver merchandise. * Observe and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean warehouse environment. * Efficiently create complex documents and/or reports using spreadsheet software. * Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all contacts inside and outside the Company. * Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Work Environment: While some job duties are performed while seated indoors, the majority of the time is spent in the distribution center, where exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and noises should not be overlooked. The incumbent may also be required on occasion to work in the warehouse where there may also be risk of injury resulting from improper procedures.
