The beginning pay is $19.95 per hour with a $1.00 shift premium for second and third shifts.   • Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy

  • Performs cycle counts

  • Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor of low levels and discrepancies

  • Handling and maintaining flow of materials and products according to established guidelines

  • Logging the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and products

  • Operating low complexity motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required

  • Inventory experience required

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree

Your everyday tasks will be to work within GKN Aerospace's US Global Technology Center team on development of Laser Wire Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Additive Manufacturing (AM). You will take on a wide range of tasks focused on equipment operation as well as development of deposition techniques, testing plans, and industrialization while working in collaboration with technology engineers with expertise in materials, controls, machining, non-destructive evaluation/testing, and process development.</p><p>You will support development, integration and implement technical solutions and documentation compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.</p><p>Job Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Operate additive manufacturing research equipment to implement new manufacturing processes into aerospace production</p></li><li><p>Maintain and modernize robotic welding systems</p></li><li><p>Interface with the customers and suppliers on the research project(s)</p></li><li><p>Support Technology Readiness Level reviews to support technology implementation</p></li><li><p>Support periodic project reviews within the GKN technology organization and with the customer to ensure good communication of project achievements, issues and progress against plan</p></li><li><p>Stay current with related technical activity within GKN's global technology team (and through related technology organizations) &amp; ensure effective exchange of results and issues</p></li><li><p>Coordinate robotic cell maintenance activities with internal and external resources</p></li><li><p>Engage with other technology development strands such as non-destructive testing, heat treatment, machining, and controls to develop AM processes.</p></li><li><p>Develop internal standards for operation, maintenance, and production of laser wire DED equipment for aerostructure applications</p></li><li><p>Develop machine toolpaths and process control parameters using multiple engineering software tools for deposition of aerospace parts based on computer aided design models</p></li><li><p>Support qualification of AM material and components for aerospace applications with both internal and external customers</p></li><li><p>Maintain database of all AM produced parts and test material logging toolpath, CAD files, process parameters and build logs into database</p></li><li><p>Support Technology Readiness Level reviews towards technology implementation</p></li><li><p>Identify technical problems and apply/integrate solutions.</p></li><li><p>Support the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements as input to bids and proposals within assigned programs/projects.</p></li></ul><p>Job Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree, within the discipline of mechanics, robotics, or technology</p></li><li><p>Excellent in co-operation, networking, team-working</p></li><li><p>Aerospace industry experience</p></li><li><p>Expereince with new product development, aerospace materials including titanium alloys, non-destructive testing techniques and application, creating and maintaining databases</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of manufacturing processes data related to traditional and additive manufacturing including machining, heat treatment, and inspection</p></li><li><p>Able to act under own initiative in relation to the assigned tasks within defined functional procedures / governance.</p></li></ul><p>Diversity Inclusion and Belonging (DIB)</p><p>As a global engineering company, innovation is what differentiates us from our competitors and is central to our success.</p><p>A balance of cultures, ethnicities and genders help bring new ideas and creativity to GKN.
