The Inventory Control Manager is essential in ensuring inventory accuracy to create the best experience for our customer. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for inventory control, managing the cycle counting team and policies, and educating and training teams on inventory practices.
This position plays a key role in the partnership between the corporate Finance team and the warehouse management team. The person in this role will expertly manage risk and support inventory objectives while challenging leaders to think outside the box and consider alternate approaches and solutions.
Recommends and implements policies, processes and procedures that support and ensure accurate records of inventory activities and status, while driving continuous improvement of inventory management disciplines and applications.
Monitor and support inventory transactions within SAP, and WMS systems for multiple plant locations to provide guidance regarding inventory issues including the existence, cause and resolution of inventory variances, while reporting out findings to senior leadership in warehouse and finance management.
Establishes and maintains a partnership with warehouse, logistics, and administrative management to provide support to the operations, as well as the training department to help ensure accuracy in standard operating procedures.
In collaboration with the security department, establishes and maintain policies and procedures to prevent loss and fraud.
Manage variable priorities, volume and business conditions through timely and effective distribution resource management.
Partner with IT leadership and resources to implement and support needed changes to system controls.
Manage and provide appropriate direction and support to team members and peers to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of inventory controls systems and procedures.
Act as the main point of contact with internal and external auditors through annual, random, or full physical audits.
Contributing to creating an engaging, high performance learning environment for peers and direct reports on the inventory management team, established through coaching, guidance, and ongoing knowledge transfer for associate development, and delivery of business objectives.
Bachelor's Degree Required in Business Administration or Related Field
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Skills and Experience
3 or more years of successful experience leading and managing multiple projects.
5+ years of Inventory management experience in a warehouse environment, including overseeing large inventories and audit procedures
Strong ability to multi task
Exposure and experience with financial reporting
Knowledge of basic warehouse management systems
Ability to motivate others, communicate with all levels of organization and influence decisions throughout the organization.
Superior Excel, modeling and data skills, with strong attention to detail is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Problem solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions.
Dedicated, self-motivated, proactive, and high energy individual with strong desire to exceed expectations.
May have occasion to perform some work at heights up to 65 feet
