Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete daily cycle counts

  • Assist with preparing annual inventory, including pre-counting stock, tagging stock, writing tags, etc.

  • Maintain clean and highly organized work environment.

  • Complete daily reports with explanations of cut items from the day before.

  • Will professionally communicate with corporate purchasing department regarding out of stock items.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventories of all products.

  • Assist Inbound Manager in keeping all products properly rotated and identified with descriptions and code numbers.

  • Complete miscellaneous projects assigned by the Inbound Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

  • Must be quick and accurate in counting and math skills.

  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel.

  • WMS knowledge a plus.

  • Julian Code knowledge a plus; or ability to learn program.

  • Exceptional organizational skills.

  • Must be a quick learner.

  • Must work well with others in an ever-changing work environment.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Forklift experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often be required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally be required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance, taste or smell. The employee will be required to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 100 pounds. There are no special vision requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels (examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment). Employee may be exposed to vibration, wet or humid conditions (non-weather), extreme cold/heat (non-weather), and work near moving mechanical parts.

The position will be staffed in our new, purpose built QC lab located within our new manufacturing space in Garland, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a quality control inspector for machined metal parts. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Uses tools, fixtures and methods to perform inspection of product consistent with the QMS at all phases of product realization including raw materials, first piece, in process, final inspections, assembly and sub-contracted work.</li> <li>Determines product conformance requirements through the review and interpretation of drawings, specifications, sample parts and electronic models.</li> <li>Reports inspection results in written or printed format. Interacts with interested parties to ensure all results are understood and acted upon as necessary.</li> <li>Assigns pass/fail status to inspected product.</li> <li>Ensures nonconforming product is identified and segregated to prevent its introduction into the product stream.</li> <li>Works to improve the efficiency and accuracy of methods and procedures which would improve product quality throughout product realization.</li> <li>Maintains tools, fixtures and equipment used in the inspection of product and the orderliness the QC inspection area.</li> <li>Fills out all required documents and records used to support the QC inspection activities. </li> <li>Knowledge of GD&amp;T </li> <li>CMM and PC-DMIS experience are required. </li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements and Abilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Occasional work on shop floor.</li> <li>Ability to be on your feet much of the working day.</li> <li>Ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds.</li> <li>Can operate various hand measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, gauge pins, etc.</li> </ul><p><strong>Education/Experience:</strong></p><ul> <li>HS Diploma.</li> <li>Minimum two years mechanical inspection experience.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>AmpThink offers benefits which include 3 weeks of paid leave per year, 8 paid holidays, health insurance (PPO) premium paid in full for employees, and a Simple IRA retirement savings plan which matches dollar for dollar up to 3% of employee's annual salary.
