The Position: Serves as primary inventory control person ensuring all supplies necessary for the recovery of organs/tissues are available and that par levels are properly maintained.

Duties Include:

  • Responsible for checking in deliveries & comparing product delivered matches packing slip & purchase orders.

  • Unpacks, barcodes, & transfers supplies to proper storage areas

  • Delivery of items to proper shelves or requesting departments.

  • Barcodes supplies out of inventory system as needed for secondary storage area stocking

  • In conjunction with Inventory Management Supervisor, ensures par levels of inventory are maintained, including supplies & instrumentation for recovery

  • Performs inventory restocking in all clinical & non-clinical areas as needed.

  • Maintains supply locator spreadsheets used throughout the facility.

  • Generates reports for ordering purposes

  • Serves as first point of contact for all UPS, FEDEX, & other deliveries daily.

  • Performs annual and periodic physical inventory counts to reconcile actual stock vs. warehouse management system.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required; Associates Degree in healthcare related field preferred.
  • 2+ years Inventory management


  • Medical inventory management.

  • Working knowledge of an inventory

management system.

  • Barcoding system software knowledge.

The Schedule:

  • This position is Sunday - Thursday, day shift.

The Location:

Off of Hampton Avenue with easy access to highways 40 and 44, close proximity to Forest Park

Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing adjustments, write-offs, reductions, QA hold tracking, cycle counting, reconciliations, OS&D coordination and all other inventory related items that affect the overall inventory system and product in the warehouse. Role and Responsibilities * Lead and provide strong oversight for inventory policies and procedures ensuring that all procedures are followed and communicated throughout the Company * Responsible for investigating and resolving item shorts, overages, and damages * Researching and resolving issues related to items on hold and release items on hold as necessary * Research and resolve issues related to receiving errors, misships, mispicks, inventory move errors, misplaced product, etc. * Conduct training, testing and certification of staff as needed on inventory policy, procedure, and tracking * Act as a resource for troubleshooting ERP system data as it relates to the inventory and issues that arise * Oversee and conduct cycle counts ensuring accuracy, data integrity and documentation is in place. Lead the team resolving cycle count discrepancies. * Perform analysis of inventory issues, movement, and tracking * Coordinate with Accounting on proper communication of write offs and issues that affect the finances of the company * Lead the inventory meetings to troubleshoot and resolve problem items to avoid large write offs, or waste. * Participate as a member of the Recall team for food safety * Assist in leading, enforcing and monitoring all food safety programs including SQF, HACCP, GMPs and other regulatory guidance as it relates to inventory traceability and tracking * Responsible for the creation of inventory reports including but not limited to special item inventory; short date report; hold report; and in-house bad product * Be a supportive member of the Operations team, helping in other capacities as needed. * All other duties as assigned Additional Duties and Responsibilities * Work with and influence others effectively with a keen ability to manage tough issues while also fostering teamwork and positivity * Model and translate a strong understanding of customer service, teamwork, company values and leadership * Manage a variety of shifting deadlines through multi-tasking and turning projects/initiatives to on-time completions * Contribute and drive initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, reduce bad product and keep costs low Qualifications and Education Requirements College degree or equivalent work experience with 3-5 years prior experience with inventory systems in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Prior experience with lot rotation, and first in first out inventory is extremely helpful. Perishable foods, distribution and/or cheese/dairy experience a plus. Must have experience on inventory team in a warehouse or manufacturing facility. Preferred Skills * Motivated self-starter with strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Extremely organized and highly motivated. * Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential * Proficient at using a computer including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Crystal Reports * Experience with recalls, lot control and traceability * Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Day-to-day inventory management experience * RF scan gun experience * Ability to work in cold environments for an extended period of time * Fork lift certified or ability to be trained * Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and translate company policies and procedures into action * Proficient in E21, Deacom, or prior experience with other inventory systems * Able to lift up to 40 pounds as necessary * Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as necessary Swiss-American, Inc.
