Responsibilities:

  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.

  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance.

  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance and shortages.

  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.

  • May be requested to perform warehouse generalist duties as needed.

  • Must be able to interact effectively with other employees from multiple departments.

Education/Experience:

Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

WHAT IT TAKES The service-focused, independent-minded VMI Specialist we seek should have these qualifications. * Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Valid driver's license and the ability to travel daily more than 80% of the time within branch or market territory, including occasional overnight travel * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., based on customer needs * High school diploma or equivalent * Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred * Customer service experience, including one year of related industry experience preferred * Relevant military experience a plus Why MSC People.
