IDEX Inventory Control Analyst in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Primary Function:

Ensure inventory accuracy for Viking Cedar Falls by monitoring, managing and optimizing the flow of goods and materials through collecting inventory and sales data, analyzing discrepancies, developing and improving inventory control systems, maintain detailed records of transactions and verifying inventory counts from company warehouse and stockrooms.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly:

  • Analyze and interpret JDE data streams to maintain physical and systematic material flow.

  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies, document root causes and drive process improvements.

  • Work with exception reports to manage transaction discrepancies.

  • Conduct special audits as requested.

  • Define and maintain Kanban process flow within JDE.

  • Perform inventory transactions, as requested, (obsolescence, inventory adjustments, return-to-stock tags).

  • Set-up system parameters for new part numbers and assign inventory locations when needed, including updating old/existing items.

  • Participate in phase out or part change over activities.

  • Primary back up for completion of cycle counts within JDE.

  • Keep key stakeholders informed of any inventory adjustments that may affect the production and purchasing processes.

Monthly/Yearly:

  • Assist with the annual physical inventory, including planning and preparation for the inventory.

  • Review and maintain Kanban and material flow set-ups within JDE in response to product changes, obsolescence and/or customer demand changes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-4 years inventory/material flow experience.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Other Special Requirements:

  • Experience with databases and spreadsheets.

  • Strong analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking and root cause countermeasure experience a plus.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • JDEdwards working knowledge, based on training provided.

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.

  • Perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

  • Extended periods of time spent on the Machine Shop floor, and in stock rooms.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • Must be able to work well and cooperate with people of all levels of the organization. Must work closely with stock room personnel.
