Summary:
The Inventory Clerk manages the supplies and products coming in and out of a business, keeps accurate counts of stored items in warehouses and sometimes stock showroom floors.
Responsibilities:
Post and receive packing slips received from warehouse and file in a logical manner for ease of access to match with invoice to verify quantity, price, and correctness of billing
Set up new part numbers and correct pricing and stock class problems
Check on availability of parts to order and provide feedback as to backorders and time of delivery
Responsible for annual parts inventory
Duties:
Clean up parts item files including backorder reports, bad stock class, vendor numbers, part numbers
Conduct claims on damaged or lost merchandise
Enter factory return requests
Coordinate supply orders and answer over flow phone calls for department
Deliver parts to necessary vendors as needed
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Skills, Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
Overall knowledge of warehousing operations; prior auto/truck parts experience is helpful
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task several priorities
Possess time-management skills
Capable of working the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel
Ability to pass a physical and drug screen
Work Environment, Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop and may need to lift/move up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to work in a dealership environment to include 8 - 12-hour days with frequent exposure to weather elements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
