Position Description:

Perform functions to support the processes and documentation associated with the purchasing and inventory management of plant supplies and other indirect materials; including but not limited to coordinating the flow of inventory between offsite and onsite storage to ensure appropriate inventory levels and meet Production demand.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create purchase orders in response to purchase requisitions and production needs

  • Monitors, maintains and analyzes inventory levels, including proper product rotation, inventory counts, inventory adjustments, etc.

  • Reconcile purchase order and invoice discrepancies

  • Review invoices and verify receipt of purchases on a timely basis

  • Track PO fulfillment including verification of quantities, prices, and on time deliveries

  • Collect, review and update required supplier documentation in support of the Approved Supplier Program, including the collection of supplier performance data and preparation of the supplier scorecard

  • Monitor supplier performance and recommend changes as needed

  • Serve as liaison between suppliers and production in the resolution of logistical issues and the processing of product quality claims

  • Assist with the establishment of suppliers, items, and cross references in the ERP system

  • Provide back up support to Supply Chain functions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field

  • 1-3 years inventory management and purchasing experience

  • Able to work with and apply mathematical concepts, including but not limited to conversions

  • Able to effectively speak, read and write English

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs and ERP systems

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
