Discipline Description

Provides logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be

deployed and stocked. Reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment. Plans, schedules and manages

the efficient movement of material from receiving, or the warehouse, to production. Manages material inventory, supplier

integration strategies (VMI/3PL/supermarkets) and import/export controls. Partners with Industrial Engineering on packaging

strategies.

Purpose

Established Materials & Logistics professional. Responsible for activities involving materials and logistics, examining invoices,

conducting inventory controls, tracing goods, and arranging for storage facilities.

Responsibility Statements

Manage coordination of storage facilities when required to ensure materials are properly stored.

Examines invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations to ensure legal compliance.

Conducts inventory control, analysis and classification according to material management procedure to ensure effective use of

resources to ensure effective logistics deployment.

Prepares or directs preparation of correspondence, reports, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals to establish the

range and depth of spares, tools and test equipment.

Tracks goods while they are en route to their destinations and expedites orders when necessary to ensure timeliness of delivery.

Plans, designs and executes activities that are directly related to the physical creation of UTC products and the functional

operation of UTC facilities. Contains professional and para-professional disciplines.

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Purpose

This position is for a Logistics technician who is under direct supervision. Prepares necessary shipping documentation. Responds

to basic to fairly complex customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services. Uses

standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

Responsibility Statements

Works under direct supervision to provide assistance with managing inventory and movement of materials.

Prepares necessary shipping documentation.

Checks arriving materials to ensure they match purchase orders.

Handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines.

Maintains and updates production and delivery schedules.

Responds to basic to fairly complex customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.

Tracks and traces goods while they are on route to their destinations.

Collects and compiles data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions and other documents to assess supply needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work. Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
