The International Documentation Specialist (IDS) is responsible for collecting and assembling all documents necessary so Scoular's customers can successfully import cargo in a timely fashion allowing Scoular to get paid in full per contract terms. In order to make shipments successful, the IDS Must work closely with the Scoular merchants, Logistics department, trade finance, Banks, suppliers, customers, and large Ocean freight providers from around the globe.
As the IDS position is working with a global customer base located in different time zones, the IDS needs to communicate clear documentation instructions to suppliers & customers in a timely manner. They must organize & prioritize their tasks by need for completion. The IDS must use customer service and problem-solving skills to resolve documentation issues for suppliers, customers & carriers who are recent entrants to the import/export market of certain commodities.
Read terms of Bank Letter Credit or shipping instructions from the customer to verify accuracy and that it is in accordance with the terms of the underlying trade.
Responsible for collecting, producing, and assembling on all assigned contracts the shipping documents necessary for presentation for payment.
Collect all certificates, bills of lading or other necessary documents to present without discrepancy and within the terms of the payment.
Make sure all the documents are acquired prior to due dates specified by management. Filing documents.
Communicate and follow up with all parties involved to make sure all required docs are received correctly and in a timely manner.

Ability to communicate concisely instructions to sellers & customers in foreign countries
Ability to think quickly and creatively in order to resolve customer & seller documentation issues
The IDS must be able to adjust to handle multiple tasks, involving fast changing business conditions, be results oriented, with a can-do attitude.
Organizational, planning, good geographical knowledge and an eye for details are essential.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel
