Interventionist - Academic (1/2 Time) - Torrington Middle School

This is a 1/2 time academic interventionist position at Torrington Middle School in Torrington, Wyoming, for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a one-year only, grant-funded position. Torrington Middle School serves students in grades 6-8. The position requires Wyoming teaching certification with any elementary or secondary endorsement. Start date: August 12, 2024. The job of Academic Interventionist is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing intervention strategies and student success in academics (e.g. reading, writing, language, math, etc.); coordinating programs and activities for paraprofessionals; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines, benchmarks and standards; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from teachers and students parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

This job reports to the building principal.

Experience Job related experience desired

Education Bachelors degree in job related area

Continuing Educ. / Training Maintain PTSB certification by earning 5 credit hours per every 5 year renewal period

Certificates & Licenses Appropriate PTSB certification; any elementary or secondary certification is acceptable
