Position description: Interventional Pulmonary APC

  • Perform primary evaluation, follow up and ongoing treatment of all forms of pulmonary and pleural disease, with particular emphasis on the necessity for pulmonary intervention such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, pleural tube drainage, or pleuroscopy.

  • Perform ultrasound guided pleural drainage procedures (thoracentesis) at all sites.

  • Troubleshoot and remove pleural catheters including tunneled catheters.

  • Assist in OR/endoscopy suite/clinic for sterile pleural procedures (e.g. Pleuroscopy with pleural biopsy) and bronchoscopy.

  • Notify patients of results and order appropriate referrals/staging studies for cancer patients.

  • Assist with quality assurance data collection and implementation of process improvements.

  • Patients may be located at Scripps Memorial LJ, AMP, Green, Torrey Pines and Scripps MDA cancer center and may be inpatient or outpatient encounters.

  • Primary office location at AMP.

  • w/RVU Production Minimum Expectation 179 per month.

  • Workdays/Hours- Monday-Friday 0800-1700
